About JewelCrafting

Hey everybody, guess what: I got interested in Jewel Crafting too! :D But so far, I have no idea what tools I nead to make jewelery with, and what items I need (I can obiously search in a guide I have but I need to know if I can buy some items from an npc instead of looting a mob), or what items to make at each point, so im asking nicely to any experienced jewelcrafter to aid me in this as much as possible :)

thank you,
Xavori.

Depends on which city you start in.

In Thurg, after you're across the bridges, on your turn right, the jewelcraft merchant is in the first building on your left.

In Erudin, in the bottom level of the palace, look for the sign that has Gems in it.

You will need a Jeweler's Kit, a metal bar (start with silver) and a gem (I would start with malachite or lapis).

Most gems come from both mobs and merchants, but a few higher end gems come only from mobs.

unlike live you require four things to make jewelry here.

Jewelry kit

bar of metal

gem

mold

all three of the items must be combined in JC kit. Somthing i will warn you is that earring and rings are easier than necklaces on difficulty. And while most gems will allow you to combine for rings/earrings, they will not all make necklaces. Realize this as live is a very expensive process. I suggest you start by dumping 21 skill points into it at trainer before starting. Something else is, you will cap out at 195 skill from merchant items. The rest of the gems needed are dropped only from critters. So start saving them. These are the things I have learned on my recent working on the craft. Hope it helps

HI!
Everytime that I'm trying to do some jewelery it's completely impossible ... could it be because i haven't more than 5 points in the ability?
Thx!

Chamelion, why dont you make a jewelcrafting guide? ;) There's only a tailoring guide made by Coltaine, it would be nice to have one for jewelcrafting

.

I have made one a few months ago and never got around to the finishing touches. I'll see what I can do in the near future, however they have changed JC quite abit it seems since I was building my skill up.

Hi Haze!
I've read that you are doing a jewellery guide, 2 month ago i've started to do a little guide also, if you want i can send all what i have, but the main problem is that you have to correct many things because english is not my languaga and I supose that there will be a lot of gramatically mistakes.
Tell me if you need all the information that i have
Thx!

Me too.

Thought I'd chime in that I'm also in the process of creating a Jewelcrafting guide.
Most of the jewelry made I have exact trivials for, though a few are not so exact because I hadn't tried them until much later in skill. I'm currently at 148 JC and I have every step written down on what I made to get there. I'd like to wait until I'm at least at the end of gaining skill off of buyable gems before posting the guide so it's hopefully near completion by that point.

Many thanks to Chamelion for the posted gem chart. *And all his previous help if he remembers my cleric (Xaigon) and monk (Jaldec) or even my enchanter (Crelshna)*

Yes I do remember you, and glad the chart was of some help. I regret that I was unable to give more info on trivials numbers. The biggest tip I can give is using the gems in order of cost. Also remember that for when the gems get expensive, you can go down roughly one or two gem types for making necklaces. I never saw any difference for trivial on rings/earrings. but the same gems necklaces would still give skill. I cannot stress this enough after you reach 190ish. At that point you will need drop gems. Again your best bet is to go by the price of the gems off vendors. Emeralds on up. When you reach the drop gem status you are about 1/3 of the way finished. Elds is a good spot for emeralds. The gargs there drop alot. Lab used to be good for gem drops but have seem to gotten rare. Just expect the price of JC to skyrocket. I just wanted those attemtping this to be prepared. If not for the aid of guidlies I would still be sitting around 200ish. Good luck to those who are working and tough it out.

Good news, I'm nearing completion of my jewelry making guide and will post it soon. I suppose finality of it depends on how quickly I can sell off jewelry in order to buy more of the droppable gems for skill. Hope you other jewelry makers out there are doing well.

Yeah I'm still here.

Well, I'll be honest...it has taken me longer to finish this tradeskill up than I thought. I'm at 242 skill as we speak and cannot wait to just finish it up! But as soon as I do I promise I'll get my JCing guide up(with most trivials), and a nifty spreadsheet (with all gems, and appropriate bar/stat additions) as a good FYI for anyone's use.

We did it!

YAAAAY! Now at 250 JCing! Thanks to EVERYONE who helped me out! <3 <3 I'll be sure to get the guide and a couple spreadsheets posted up here shortly, probably tomorrow if I can manage.

Here it is.

Well, I've collected all my information on Jewelry Crafting over the last few months...And so, as promised, here is a link to what I put together:

As you can tell, I'm certainly no Wiz and staff  <3 , but it'll get the job done. Hope everyone benefits from this. Thanks to everyone and good luck! :D

P.S. You're welcome to let me know if any of the information I do have posted up there is incorrect, I'd love to fix it.

Congratulations on your Success Crelshna. A bitter sweet victory, I'm sure.
