A few questions

I'm new to the EQEMU scene. Been playing live about 5 years now, looking for a nice change of pace. I tried Fates Destiny server, but the most I have seen online at any given time is 5 people. I understand the concept of legit and non-legit. I understand you guys have an xp bonus, and I have peeked in your items database as well.

The items and quests that exsist on live, are they avail here as well, or just the items list? Are there "end game" guilds, that are able to tackle major raid targets? Also how much of an xp bonus is there? How long does it take to get AAs or levels? Thanks for your assistance. From what I've seen so far this server looks promising. I look forward to exploring the zones your devs have made available. Hope to see you all soon!

Items and quests are completely custom. There are two very active end game guilds and a host of high level people capable of taking down big targets. The exp bonus varies per zone.

I couldn't answer your leveling questions since it's been a while since I was leveling up, but I believe it's much more convenient to group nowadays (no penalty at all for grouping. Exp is the same for each person in a 2 person group as it is for each person in a 6 person group.), so things should die quickly and give you good exp.

This is not meant to sound mean or rude but as information that will help in the future. Winter's Roar is NOT Live. That will save you some time. The client (engine) is the same but this is a custom game.

Quests and Items are different. While Cloth, Leather, etc exist, other items are custom. Quests are being developed by a team of people currently that are working to help the community - so expect new ones to be coming out fairly regularly.

Ae there "end game" guilds, that are able to tackle major raid targets?

yes, there are guilds that are progressing towards the end game but to my knowledge, not all mobs have been killed yet. I am not anywhere near this level so some in those guilds maybe able to correct me if I am mistaken.

Also how much of an xp bonus is there? How long does it take to get AAs or levels?

Not sure on overall bonus but there are racial bonuses (such as human with +10%, iksars/trolls with -5% - but still more than Live) and zone modifiers as list in this Post. I can say that leveling will be faster than Live regardless of class.

I'd also like to add that in the begining, although earning money is hard to come by, it is nowhere near as annoying or tedious as EQL was. You can decently equip yourself, and if you dedicate time to it, be able to afford nice armor sets easily before you reach level 20. We're not talking the best armor in the world, but a good set that'll last you into your 30's and beyond.

Not all of the EQL zones exist in WR. Most of the zones are repopulated, have custom spawn and loot tables, and even different names. Some of the zones you're used to in EQL don't exist at all, some of the towns are inhabited by things you don't want to go within miles of...

Fun factor, WR beats EQL hands down. The Staff is a thousand times more amiable, and don't put up with shit. ^^

You wouldn't perhaps be referring to Kelethin by chance would you ( I know its not the only one), but I have seen that posted the most for former cities where people aren't so welcome any more :) .

Yeah.. The exact one I was refering to.. I made the mistake of riding the lift the other night at level 12.. rofl.

Yeah, isn't most of Faydwer kind of frightening now? I haven't had the guts to head over there yet but I heard something about Felwithe not being the most friendly of places either.

Haven't done a great deal of poking around.. I know at 12 almost everything in what was once Butcherblock was red to me... I know Kaladim is an undead city now (I'm assuming..).

Greater Fay still seems to be a newbie zone - I know that at 10-12, most of the mobs I saw (except in Kelethin) were green. Didn't swing by Felwithe my self though to check that out.

Hmm well I'm 20 now, might have to find my way over to that part of the world and take a looksie.
