61 + Level Spells.. where to get them??

I am under the impression that most of your 61+ level spells cannot be bought off a vendar (looking at the spells players are selling). As of yet I have not seen a spell drop from any of the mobs I have fought, so looking for tips where to find 61+ level spells. What type of mob/encounter should I be looking for?


Some told me tmaps can drop spells, but I have only seen Ancient spells drop myself.

very easy, easy, and moderate tmaps all have a VERY high chance to drop spells - I see spells on these maps almost 100% of the time. I've never in my life seen an ancient from a tmap so I'm not quite sure what you're talking about.

61 spells are fairly common, so much so that some people I know vendor them right out. I would check the buying and selling forums, you've got 5 guilds and 4 people that post extensive "bank" listings of spells and items. Also try /ooc.
 
You'll see more and more 61-62 spells as you start fighting harder 60s mobs. Some examples are Eldenal's in the castle, Minotaurs in Lasanth (pretty poor drop rate), some areas in Fire Grotto. 63-64 spells drop in the harder 65+ zones such as Catacombs and the planes. 65 spells drop mostly from named mobs.

Tmaps, iirc, have a 1 in 3 chance of containing spells, and when they do have spells they usually have 2. This may be your best chance of getting your spells yourself without a good solid group (since the other places they drop are relatively more difficult).

Unforutnately, you'll probably end up buying most of your spells unless you hook up with a solid guild, since the 61-62 spells drop in places that are quite difficult for your average pre-65 characters and the 63-64 spells drop in zones that are really 65+. :(

Thanks for the info! I figured tmaps would be my source for spells.

I could have sworn I did a tmap with some 65s and we got 1 Ancient spell.. I could be wrong.

Off to the buy/sell forum I guess LOL
 
Good source Gunder!

I guess I've just been lucky with my VE-Mod maps and unlucky with my D-VD maps, I don't think I've ever seen a drop from those but I know it's *supposed* to happen.

But yeah, I would say the server has been relatively flooded with 62-62 spells, and you should be able to find them for sale easily and buy them fairly cheap.
