60+ zones

Hey guys i just wanted to ask a question about plans for expantion here.
For a while in the low 50's it was rather hard to get a group going or find a group. Now that there seems to be alot of 60+ in the ranks, the groups are there but the room in zones for the groups isnt. Even if it was just 1 or 2 more zones, it would make a big impact i think. Something new for people as well as freeing up zones. I know that the zone additions take alot of work, i just think it should be looked at.

its been rumored that kunark will be coming back so that should be giving you a good number of higher level zones. but then its been rumored since they removed lands of magic so i woudlnt hold my breath.

There are a number of exp zones for 60+ that go quite commonly completely ignored.

For example, the Eastern Wastes Orc Fort is almost always abandoned.

As is Sirens Grotto (deeper in, of course), and Western Wastes.

Kedge is populated only half the time, same for Everchill Caverns.

Highkeep and Fire Grottoes are both often abandoned, and Red Sun Mines is almost never looked at.

Eldenals and Cmal get more than their fair share of attention, though.

While I'm on the subject, any 60+ group ought to spend some time in Dreadfang tower for Fun and Profit.

If you've got some time and would like a challenge, I might also recommend trying to forge your way into the depths of First Ruins.

Finally, the Pixies and Faries in Faentharc might provide a little fun, particularly the ones deep in by the Fairy Queen (P.S. My Official Suggestion: Give The Fairy Queen a Loot Table - Killed her today to be rewared by: a Fairy Wing (common off of normal Fairies). Word on the street (read: from our tank) says she hits harder than Lenny the Gargantuan - and I can confirm that she hit me for over 400 once or twice.

That being said, I always love new content for the Variety it provides. Go Go New Content for 60+!

well i agree with alot of what ya posted but your also forgeting a few thing.
Cmal and Elds are almost always camped now, EC and HK are really really tuff for people not raid equiped. The waste zones are ok if you can actually talk people into going there. Kedge gets more and more camped everyday. I have never been to SG on SoD but ill give that a go tonight. The zones in red sun are really hard for an ogre to move in even with contracting choker. i just think another zone or 2 would help spread the load from the current grind. Again i know it takes alot of work i just wanted to throw it at yas :p

Oh I hadn't thought of that. An Ogre might also have a hard time in EC and Kedge =O.

But, there are sacrifices to be made I suppose.

It's true, I've rarely seen groups in Western Wastes, but Eastern Wastes should be a farily popular spot I would think: The teeth give Giant Faction (for the SK port neck: Incredibly useful imo), and the mini-nameds (Coldstone the Conjuerer, Forsworn Skindancer) drop nice loot (some of which sells for up to 1k). In addition, the open spaces means kiting is possible too. It's the perfect exp spot! It shouldn't take much convincing to get people to come join you.

I've never really thought of Everchill as difficult for those who aren't raid equipped (at least, all the orcs in the front, which are more than enough for one group). Not sure about highkeep (haven't spent a lot of time there).

O and I forgot MielechC! Camped half the time, it's probably also a nightmare for ogres, but it's got a nice range of areas for groups 60-65 and 65+, and up to three groups can work there at the same time (if they go different directions.) If it's your first time there, or if you have a 60-65 group, go right.

I have tanked in EC before but it was rough, and i also had some raid equiped friends with me lol. MielC is great if ya got the right classes and its not already camped lol. I just think 1 or 2 more wouldnt hurt :p

Mielech C can easily support at least 3 groups - 4 groups, not counting the sewers and trak's old lair (D1+D2+Golems, Crypt, old Chef area, and old entry->Bartender area), . I've never seen more than 2 groups in there. Haven't spent enough time in the sewers to know how many that can support.

I think there is plenty xp places for the high end ppl. I agree that some places (like EC, DHK and Eld's castle) might be rough for ppl that dont have high end gear, but it is all still very doable if you have crew that is skilled and knows what their doing. After all, gear is only a part of ur toon. Skill and AA's also count!

You can have a nice and shiney BP with +100 HP or something, but if you lack the defensive aa's thats not gonna do you any good :)

The rate at which these zones are populated can cause problems i guess. For the love of it i am not gonna think of what happens to a zone when Forsaken xp's in it... but if lets say a decent PR group xp's in eDHK then they can keep a very large part of the wing down. While a group from a guild like Revelation or Steel could perhaps handle a wee bit less and thus have 2 groups in eDHK.

Pls, dont get all offended if ur guildname is in this post. I just took some names out of the blue.

I'd also love to see some more zones, but theres alot that really is never done. Siren's really never has people there and I've only grouped there once. Don't particularly see why as it's not like most of the mobs are all that tough. I can solo singles on the back half and siemnar packmasters aren't all that tough either. The mermaids are a different story and hit for 300ish, summon, and come pretty much 2 at a time from what I've seen except for two, one that comes single, and one 2x w/a siemnar protector in the middle.

RSM=> most of the time abandoned. I can see the reason I never really went much=> high fire resistance mobs, duh=> many mage nukes firebased :/. Also invising past the gobs at the entrance and finding a safe spot later in is a pain in the ass for a solo mage, and more often than not I've been killed while trying to bring pet up. W/a decent group it could be fun though, and thankfully the 64 nuke is magic based.

Firegrottos was fun as hell last time I went. This zone should have more groups heading to it. But doesnt. More than elds at least, which is kind of boring after a while, but people go there for faction and drops more than anything I'd think.

Highkeep, never really went here much, there's apparently a trap in the first part that will get you owned, and the guards just werent soloable at the ent at the level i tried it at, just couldnt keep up the heals.

Dreadfang Spire=> Don't see why more people don't go here either, but then I can't really gauge how difficult most of the mobs are because I've only been here before on a raid, but w/20+ people they're pushovers mostly up to the stasis preserver part , so I wouldnt see a decently raid equipped group having a ton of trouble

Mielc=> easy in certain parts, and pretty unbelievably so at that. But the main xp path slows down after a while and really I'm just sick of that place

Eld's => factionland w/athica, not bad, still kinda fresh for me as I've only been inside the castle a coupla times.

Kedge=>Badass xp here on acct of the zem amoung other things, not bad lootwise either, though the booby prizes on some of the named are perhaps a bit too gimp (blade/spike for example). Chanters=> happiness/necessity for further in as far as I've seen to keep guardian pirahna's and other things from tearing ass, and there's not exacty a ridiculously high population of them roaming about.

Cmal=> max of 6 ppl inzone and very long repops keep it down a bit, I've had people not want to go there before simply because they figured mobs wouldnt be up. Also cmal=> rot heaven.

Everchill simply too hard to get your average group to there when there's equivalent xp to be found elsewhere thats just much easier.

EW I've never really done either. Sorc's might be fun too, but not many people go there either.

Altogether I'd <3 new zones though or perhaps some revamps. Preferably some more highlevel zones that you don't have to be raidgeared for. Seems every time I do get a group they want to go to the same tired old zones which are getting pretty damm boring. If anyone's going to other places and needs a mage look me up lol.

Also Catacombs are fun, but you need a really good group to go there.

I also got tired of MielC and I only go to Cmal when I hope my cmal3 gloves will drop.
Some zones simply have higher ZEM. If you have the crew to CC - why would you go to a place where they'd have no work?

Zones like Elds, FG, Kedge and RSM have pretty nice loot for not-so-hard mobs and nice spell drop rate. And many of them involve quest parts, let it be faction or mobs to kill for Lifeward and such.

No wonder they're popular :) (at least when I play).

I personally really like High keep, but lately noone goes there. Seems like after solving the riddle people don't value the xp and tmap/spell drops in there as much :(

Catacombs is massive fun indeed, but like said above. It kinda has the same problem EC has, the average joe group cant simply xp there. Not to mention its only 6 persons like cmal. One advantage it does have is that the respawns are fairly normal.

The reason I didn't mention Catacombs is that I consider it a place to go for 65++ with raid gear. All the other places I listed have areas that are doable by a group 60-65, imo.

However, considering that the difference between a 60s group, a 65s group, and a 65 + 150 AAs group is pretty significant, you can see why such a spectrum exists.

As much as we all like new content, it really does appear to me that there's just plenty of ignored content to go around. This after Wiz et. al. revamped the entire northern continents to be better xp and add more variety for 60-65s (THANKS Wiz, just in case nobody else noticed >.<)

O, and I forgot: Lasanth can also be fun for 60-65 groups, if you pick your camp carefully. In addition, rumor has it that Lasanth is a GREAT place to get tmap drops. I fear most 60-65s have well worn out their xp welcome in Lasanth, but if you haven't been back since the zone xp reset, you really should try the minos and the spiders (and many tailors pay WELL for the special silk from there).
