Shortly after I came to WR I saw a patch message that talked about lowering stun durations on highlvl mobs so as to help eliminate having to make all highlvl mobs immune to stun. Im not sure if this was ever put into effect or not(since I was too lowlvl at the time to really test stun duration, etc), but right now as far as I can tell, all 55+ mobs are immune to stun. Since the vast majority of mobs I xp on are 55+, it makes stuns only useful for aggro. This has led to 55+ xp zones with heavy caster numbers to be seen as much more risk for less reward(akheva), since caster mobs were pumping out way more damage with no way to stun to interrupt casting.
This wasnt too much of a problem until just this week, when rains were fixed. Now in areas of Eldenals with 55+ evokers, mobs are chain raining as well as AEing. With no way to stop casting outside of divine stun, this is resulting in crazy damage to any melees and pets in range. Last night I had a charmed pet die to AE, even after I group elixired twice. The two noncharmed pets of course died quite quickly.
Is there any chance that 55+ mobs can be made "stunnable", even with a much shorter duration so as to stop casting, or take another look at rain spells on mobs now that they are fixed? I can see the argument that "well, you guys have rain spells, why cant mobs?" Well, mobs have much more hitpoints, hit much harder and summon, so casters having rain spells can only really use them on single targets and must be very careful against mobs that summon(else they rain themselves). Mobs can rain against multiple targets constantly, not worrying if they hit themselves.
