1st person issue

I just got SoD up and going, started a new character. When I noticed something strange about 1st person.

In live (and it's been a few years since I played) you would see your little arm and weapon come out in front of you to hit something.

in SOD it's like your character leans forwards to hit the mob, but the camera stays still, passing through your character, so what you see is a psychedelic splash of color and clipped shapes. Each time your swing your weapon.

Is 3rd person the only cure, or is there that I can do.

Thanks

Sounds like you have the known issue with many of the new Nividea Graphics cards. 8800 for instance.

If so, there is only one solution, and that's ATI

Many people have looked for a fix.. none out there.

You must have the 8800. Search the forums there is a whole thread dedicated to this bug. Nothing has been found to fix it. I have the 8800 and just use my mouse and scroll back a few feet when in melee.

It is an issue with more than just the 8800 GT/9800 GT/GTS 250 (which, btw, are all practically the same card).

This is an issue that affects all Nvidia cards due to the lack of Nvidia driver support for this old version of the Live client. (A friend had to quit using a 5700 LE and switch to an even older ATI card to play. I keep my old gaming machine, with a Radeon x600, running simply to play SoD because of this.)

You have three choices with SoD:

1. Nvidia graphics bug. (1st person melee, large mob corpses, boats, etc. all being bugged.)
2. ATI graphics bug. (No targeting ring.)
3. Intel performance. (The best Intel graphics solution is VERY slow even when compared to the solutions from the other two providers made THREE years ago.)
