1017--HELP! (Tried EQfix)

Ok. I've tried (after using WR patcher):

1. Patching to EQ, then using EQFix.
2. Reverting to an older version of EQ, then doing EQFix
3. Reverting to an older version of EQ, then not using EQFix
4. Restarting computer
5. Restarting LAN
6. Restarting Modem
7. Re-installing EQ, patching, using EQFix
8. Creating a new EQEMU, then doing the above.
9. Looked at http://www.wintersroar.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1203. NO HELP!

Someone pleeease help me with this.
 
Make sure you're using both the executable and the UI files from EQFix. Other than that, I have no idea.
 
Ok, the eqgame.exe file (from eqfix.zip) goes into "base" everquest dir (like c:\program\everquest, or where the heck you have installed it), then the ui files goes into the ui lib, NOT base lib that is *\everquest\UIFiles\default\
Best thing to do this is, patch to eqlive, download eqfix.zip, DELETE your UiFiles\default\ lib, copy eqgame.exe from the eqfix.zip to your everquest dir, and copy the rest of the files from eqfix.zip to the UIFiles\default\ folder, doing this the correct way and you should NOT get 1017 error, if you do then you are doing something wrong.
 
What I just did:

Patched to EQLive

Patched to WR

Put (EQFix) eqgame.exe into C:\Everquest

Deleted original EQ UI files (C:\Everquest\uifiles\default)

Added WR UI files (C:\Everquest\UIfiles\default)

Ran EQ.

You'll never guess what happened.... 1017!!

Every single post looks like "tried that post...NO HELP", etc. That post has worked for everyone but you amazingly enough. Maybe your computer just sucks too bad? How should we know

Nice to know that after you attacked him for his use of grammar (lol), you then gave him an order.

Although I'm not a very firm believer in "do unto others", it really does apply in this case.

I don't mean to be picky, but I can't understand a word of what you're saying if you say it with horrible grammar. (Fjodor, you used ONE real period in your post). Do that, or put it in a list.

That may be because you FORGOT to unzip everything and overwirte everything of EqFix? ;)
And by the way, even I got this thing right, and trust me, I suck at patchs :eek: If it doesnt work for you, you should ask for somebody else to do it for you :hug:
 
Sorry for the attack on grammar, I had to re-read the post five times to really understand it. I did NOT order Fj. to put the instructions into a list (it may have sounded like that, but I didn't mean that).

If all my posts sound like "Tried that, no help," and you don't want me to say that, then this thread is a waste of bandwidth, because I am asking for help. Do you think I don't retry it after I hear that? I sure do.

The reason I've continued to spend time on it is because this is an awesome server, and reminds me most of EQLive and SWG before "that" (Luclin, PoP/Holo Grinding) happened.

If you don't like me, don't help me. Those (very few) who have unlimited patience and tolerance will (hopefully) help me out. See you ingame.

Edit: Oh, and Gonzo, if this post had been me not even looking at your guide I wouldn't even try to imagine how much [more] irritated you would have been.
 
I know I have horrible gramma (I'm a swede after all).
Strangly enough you listed everything you had done as I asked you do try.
You seem to have tried everything so I don't actually don't know what could be wrong.
Do you have all expansions ?
If not, try to download the patch.zip I'm hosting, that is all the files you need to be able to download ALL expansions from the live pather.
After you have patched everything, try again to install the eqfix, and then use the WR patcher, if it still don't work then I'm out of ideas.

Well, if it still don't work then it might be that you have some other bogus programs on your computer. I hope you have a anti-virus program installed. And then I recomend that you download and run Ad-aware 6. It's a great program that cleans your HD from spyware programs and such.

Hope you understand what I wrote this time.
