Zone bonus reset - two quick questions

And when grouped I was not referring to not being hit by the mob, but taking an xp "hit" for assisting the tank. I'm in there singing and swinging too...why should I get less xp?

The only reason you might get less xp than another character is if they are a different level, or have hunted in the zone less or more than you. IN a group you do see less xp per kill, but that is often balanced by the increased speed at which you kill and thus increasing number of mobs killed and xp that follow behind like a lost puppy just wanting your attention

Thanks Dio...I think the group when that happened one of the members had a higher level alt hanging out there. They must have been helping out with more than I thought. I wasn't trying to power-level, just in BB looking for a group. I was more upset about the -73% I got when I was kiting (one mob...not being greedy) in Everfrost and someone I don't know ran by and cast a DOT on my mob. But anyway...I'll just keep playing, having fun, and trying to level.

Try not to get too down about that. I know several times i have helped out someone who looked liked they needed it but they really didnt. They might have just wanted to help ya out.

TBH, while in some zones xp bonus stays for "relative long" after level 65 (aaing), in some high xp zones (HHK/FR) you get from 25 % to 0 % in like 2 hours literally. This is cause xp modificator is influenced not by time spent in zone, but by AA/level earned in zone. When you're getting 3k xp from a mob, it takes a while to get bonus dropped to 0, now, when you're getting 16k per kill... well... bonus go to hell in seconds, mostly.

This, in the praxis means that if you go and explore HHK/FR for FIRST TIME, by the time you get to the end of the zone, bonus is already about to get to 0, or at 0... I think it's quite unfair, and these zones should have longer time on bonuses, based on how faster you get 1 aa there compared with other zones.

About the XP loss over time...

To me, this kinda seems like overkill. I never want to go to kedge keep again. Ever. Not because I now have a neg10 there... but because I did about 80 AAs there. Rurho, Finster, Thizik... they did more than that, probably about 140. They never want to go back. For them, they're bored, tired, and frustrated with the zone, even though they know every in and out of the entire place. I don't need an *Old Area Penalty* to help me figure out I've been to a zone too long.

Currently, my favorite zone in the game is highkeep. I've been there since level 65 with 40 AAs, and I'm still going there at 65 with 250 AAs. I started out there with around 4200 base mana, and our group would wipe to 2nd level stuff quite often, like the kitchen hands. After a while, we were pretty good at the 4th floor, doing Royals and the High Priest... This was around 150 AAs for me. Now, we're doing High Priest and Chancellor with less than optimal groups, and with a good group, we're smacking around the basement.

It seems wierd that the Xp bonus is reset at certain levels, but not at certain AA levels, when there is just as big of a range (or bigger) in zones like highkeep or first ruins.

Agreed. Also add CMal to the list of zones with different sections for differently AA'd characters.
