Your Client May have Crashed

Okie, I was playing my wizard Monday (Tuesday? don't recall) when I went insta LD in Darkwoods. At that point, I was unable to log back in. I was not alone, half the server had the same problem and the server had to be rebooted. I went and watched TV.

I have tried logging in several times since, but I am unable to log in. My original issue was that I could pass character select, but then, when my character should appear in the world, I remain in the loading splash screen and get the box that tells me that my client has crashed.

I have since tried several things...

repatch all
eqw
norton utilies
delete files.txt and repatch all
reboot

I did a few things a bit heavier..

repair eq

No joy.

wipe eq

Then I reinstalled from scratch. This gave me a differing error about packaged files.

I know a guy with live access, so I used his account to patch to live full, ~6 hours. This caused my sodpatcher to take me to live. I reran the upper steps and reestablished SoD access...

to get the client crash message in the exact same place again.





Anyone got a suggestion?
 
Uninstall left files behind, notably the UI files and profile settings.

I did the uninstall again, then wiped the remaining files. On reinstall, repatch live, and reSoD the thing up, all was well.
 
it used to happen to me allll the time when i started out. i was told to ignor it and keep trying. it happened to me today once...but that was it.

best advise i can give, no one knows how to fix it. atleats not to my knowledge :psyduck:
