Yet another two boxing question

Hi there, I have done forum searches and feel like I have read just about everything on two boxing...but I have more of a situational question.

Just getting back into SoD (dabbled a little in it years ago in between other MMOs, but never seriously), but wanted to two box this time because I have a pc that handles it alot better. Anyways, I will be playing casually about 7-14 hours a week...and I having problems deciding what class I want to box with a Necro (its my favorite/most interesting).

- I want to be self reliant and have buffs
- I won't have time to find groups most times, so I need to be able to handle alot by myself
- Easy to two box
...

I think Shaman sounds very cool, I have read that druid is popular with Necro...but druids dont float my boat tbh. Can anyone tell me by experience how well necro+shaman work chemistry wise? Or possibly give me some other options and tell my why it works well. Thanks in advance for any input.

I can...

druid+anything is very good. You have your ports, you have your ds, you have some nice heals and a great group heal.

Shamans are great, they are the best at buffs/slows and really good at healing.

I just think a druid gives you the extra bit thats needed.. Tracking/SoE/Regen/DS/Teleports/group heals > then Uber buffs/slow/good healing

Ok, after looking at what the druid has to offer, I am more convinced now. If I ever feel like doing end game with either class, will there be much difference in getting a spot with a shaman vs druid?

fwiw bard is pretty fun with a necro for me. mana battery plus regen to keep your lich up always, great crowd control, pretty good dps if you gear him well and a half decent off tank if you need it.

I agree with Konad (sup bro, still wanna call you Nug).

Druids = utility. Shamans = kill stuff quicker, med less. No group heal spell, either.

Gheals, DS, snaring, foraging (so you aren't out of food and water), tracking. They can do a lot more, that's just what they have over shamans.

Shaman's get a better pet (and they get it way earlier too, not counting animal charm), better dots and overall damage, better stat buffs, haste, cannibalize (health to mana conversion), slows.

Neither would be a bad choice. I think droods get 1HS, but the only 1HS weapon I can think of that I've seen them use is Scimitar of Mielech, which isn't bad at all. Both classes melee about the same, but really if you're meleeing with them, you're either about to die cause everyone else wiped, or you're just screwing around.

Only thing with druid is that you can't slow. I would go with Shaman if you are planning to two box with a melee over a druid - for the simple reason that you get more utility for the melee (buffs help if you are non-twinked especially). Really, other than the DS and ports, a Shaman > druid on everything else, and canni helps with mana a lot - so your healer will generally last longer mana-wise.

Druid imho would work very very well with a BST, since you technically have everything - slow / haste / heal / DS / pet / pet heals / buffs / ports / can tank with BST or/and pet for adds and group heal both etc. I would have actually gone for that combo had I not played a BST on live for years and not wanted to try something different ::D

That said, everyone's opinions will differ.
