I feel that the belts that you get from these quests are sorely lacking considering the level required and the difficulty in achieving them vs the ease of acquiring items of similiar/arguably better stats.
The three sashes are:
Leaper's Sash
AC: 3
STR: +3 DEX: +3 STA: +3 AGI: +3
WT: 0.1 Size: SMALL
Class: MNK
Race: ALL
Thinker's Sash
AC: 4
Effect: Recovery I (Worn)
STR: +4 DEX: +4 STA: +4 AGI: +4
WT: 0.1 Size: SMALL
Class: MNK
Race: ALL
Learner's Sash
Slot: WAIST
AC: 6
Effect: Recovery III (Worn)
STR: +6 DEX: +6 STA: +6 AGI: +6
WT: 0.1 Size: MEDIUM
Class: MNK
Race: ALL
The first sash requires level 35 to get, the second about 45, and the third, 50+
Now, I've been collecting the items for these sashes, but realized after getting stuck on the third one (no one seems to know where Rare Moss drops anymore), that it's pretty much a waste of time. The belt I'm currently wearing, which regularly sells for 100-150pp is:
Twined Hide Sash
Slot: WAIST
AC: 10
Skill Mod: Dodge +5%
STR: +5 DEX: +2 STA: +5 WIS: +5 AGI: +2 HP: +30
Weight: 0.1 Size: Small
Class: MNK BST
Race: ALL
The stats aren't quite as good, but the +30 hp and 10 AC are worth more than the increased stats. Also, the +5 Dodge I feel is about on par with the Recovery 3, as the extra damage you're going to avoid during a fight is probably going to be about the same as the hp you'd have regened in the same time period. Overall, I'd say that the 3rd sash is indeed a little better than the twined hide sash, when I believe there should be a substantial improvement. The 2nd belt I feel should be on par with a twined hide sash, and the third better.
The way it is now just doesn't seem right to me as its the third item in the quest series, and anyone that is actually going to bother doing it probably already has a belt that's better until the third (and even then might still be better). So doing the first two quests really does nothing for you.
I know as it stands right now there is no incentive for me to try to figure out how to get that last piece for the Learner's Sash (or spend 250pp on a spiderkin silk) since I'll get a slight upgrade, at best. A couple other Monks around my level who are working on the quest that I've spoken to feel the same way.
I don't know what should be done - more AC, add some HP, higher recovery ? But I know as it stands now, the rewards for this quest line just aren't worth the trouble of doing it.
