Now, before everyone jumps the gun, I'd like to clarify a few things, first.
To anyone who is new or is thinking of joining, I thoroughly enjoyed the game back when I played years ago. I highly recommend giving this place a go, as the GMs and Admins work hard to make this place as enjoyable as they can, and the community is, in general, very helpful and kind.
Secondly, to those vets and die hards who swear by this game, just know that I know how fun this game can be. I do have a few concerns, though, which I'm sure anyone who's been around can empathize with, even if they don't necessarily agree.
My primary hesitation for coming back revolves around the journey, for lack of a better word. I have some max level toons with decent gear, but as I had zero interest in investing hours upon hours of raiding, I never really got too far. I was fine with that, but I realized that I was a minority - so much so, in fact, that whenever I rolled a new character, I was almost always alone. Any lower levels were almost always being powerleveled through the content, and were almost always heavily twinked.
Now, I don't have any problem with PLing or twinking, per se - we've all done it, and it's fun having a level 5 toon with the power to falcon punch a small star into extinction. But I want to start from scratch, do things the hard way, and my concern is that I'll be doing it alone, all over again. This game is fun, but not fun enough to warrant soloing alone all the way up again.
