i'm new with sod and had a great experience when i was playing ealier but after work i tried to log in and the server had 256 players and i tried connecting to the server and it said world locked, is this because of a server player limit or a file curroption problem?
 
It means the server is being patched/worked on. Not a good idea to let people log on while your fixing something. It'll be unlocked when the patching process is finished.

It could mean a patch, login server is down, world is being rebooted ... lots of things. If you get that message your best bet is to log onto IRC and read the topic for server status/more infos.
 
ohh, your not even a character yet/.. yeah they're just patching right now, dont worry. long ass patch though going on 4hours (i'm on east coast, and id idnt pay attention to time zone of patch start, but it started at 12) this is sort of irregular. normally they'll do an emergency patch or something, broadcast across server, you log out for 10 minutes and it's done. this is part of the wednesday scheduled patch system they've got now. you're not broken, anyway, it's happening to everyone until they're done patching. hang in there.
 
thank you greatly for the info. i havent been able to sucessfully log in yet. just installed it, wasnt sure if it was my fault or what. :)
