Working, but not

Dalayan Beginner
So I find myself having a problem when I try to Dual Client. I start both versions of eqw at the same time and the first one loads perfectly from the server select screen. I then connect through the 2nd window and it does the normall "Submitting player to world server". When it resizes the screen and usually shows the Shards of Dalaya loading screen, it just stays dark, but if I alt tab I can see that the character select screen is up, I just can't get it to show it to me for some reason.

The game doesn't crash or freeze, it is running perfectly, I just can't get it to show up.

If I close one of the instances of eqw (doesn't matter which) the other one will immediately pop up front and be running like a dream.

I don't believe it's an ISP issue but I play on both a DSL and a cable setup (different locations) and have both routers
ports forwarded for SoD.

If i need to post any other info lemme know and I'll get it for ya asap.

Any help is much appreciated

Are you logging into the same account? If so, you won't be able to dual client.

have tried running in both full screen and eqw still same issue on both

this also becomes an issue when running a single window. If i alt+tab to look at a website or such, there are times when i won't be able to alt+tab back to the game. again, the game is running still (as I have alt+tab pressed i can see the game running fine, but when i release it shows the window border and nothing else)

any suggestions would be helpful, as this is becoming rather annoying.

Sounds like you are using Windows Vista or it's a laptop, or both, because my girlfriend cannot dual client from her machine either.

If it's Vista, I'm not sure of any work-around for it, unless you have a dual core computer, in which case you should look at setting the affinity to a single processor. If you have a laptop, either a. change your power option settings under your display options from Portable/Laptop to Always on, or b. disable intel speedstep in your system bios. Both of these options will just make your laptop processor run at it's maximum mhz.

Laptop here with dual processor, sli graphic cards, and vista... and dual client with EqW

And never had a problem with it :) I can even alt + tab in order to position my mouse on the upper blue bar of the 2 windows to move them on my screen at the 2 opposites, because the second client appears directly on the first.

Rarely... once in a time i sometimes get a 1001 error connecting message, but then i just reboot it and everything's working smooth again :keke: sounds like emule must have taken too many ports on the long run :haw:

and of course i have the graphic problems some geforces 8 users are experiencing on SoD with nvidia latest drivers... (when an npc or npc is too close to me i am having crazy textures) so i just change in 3rd person or bird view to avoid it but that's nvidia and geforces 8 not SoD.
