Wizards Arcane Grip AA

I apologize if the use of satire to make a point was in some way construed as personally offensive.

I *do* believe that a harvest mana AA would be overpowered for wizards because it would give the highest dps class even more mana to draw from on each and every boss fight. That is my opinion.

In the end, no matter how anyone tries to spin the usefulness of “Arcane Grip” it will still remain a redundant AA due to the wizards level 62 root spell "Shackles of Earth" that is a 1.6 second cast time and instant recast. This AA line is a very good candidate for replacement.
 
DPS is what wizards do.

And they do it better than any other class. Why is it you feel every single AA should be devoted to increasing the gap between wizards and other classes?

What I said was not shitting/derailing your thread. I was making a point that every class (or nearly every class) has one or two class-specific AAs of very dubious usefulness, and that alone is not necessarily a reason to go changing them.
 
All classes have some great AAs, some good AAs and some marginally useful AAs.

This one is half way between the second and the third and I really see no reason to change it. Wizards are not an impoverished class by any means as they are.
 
Sorry for not adding anything useful, but from my 61 seasoned experience Wizards
as crowd control is at best, not ideal in the high end, nor should it be.
I would leave that to Enchanters, Bards, and at times Necromancers.
Our role (if I understand wizards right) is to do incredible amounts of
Damage over a short period of time, A.K.A. Burst DPS.
Any AA that helps that ability is welcome by me.

Even though i linked to it in that other thread this post is 8 months old and kinda got shut down by woldo and people being jackasses. If you want to write up a new thread about it I would totally support you though.
