I am currently running fedora with kernal core 3 and also using wine rpm . which is a windows emulator for linux / fedora .. have have been able to Everquest to work on it .. and connect to Live server and connect with thier patcher .. how ever .. tried to run WR's Patcher and keep getting an error .. and fedor doesnt seem to allow me to edit the egame.exe to include the "patchme" text . I was just wondering if The Wr Team or anyone else has successfully been able to get it working fully and if so how can i go about possibly making it work rest of the way?

I don't know if this is your problem, but you don't need to edit eqgame.exe, just pass "patchme" as a parameter.

Well thats prettymuch what i am talking about hehe Fedora doesnt seem to allow you to add parameter .. atleast not that i know of. What gets me tho is Live server EQ patcher works just fine but cant seem to get Wr's patcher to work..Unless maybe i renamed the Wrpatcher to the Everquest patcher .. but dont think thats going to work either.

doesn't fedora let you (at least) pass the parameters on the command line? if you can (should be able, at least other distributions let you), then you can just make a script to run the game.

hmm well i was able to create a launcher with the paramters patchme .. and it does start to load till get an error message of String not Found (303)

when i try to enter the paramter on the terminal command line nothing happens .. not sure exactly what i am doing wrong.

so you tried typing "./eqgame.exe patchme" (without "") in the konsole when in your everquest directory? (the "./" is very important, since the current directory is not always in the PATH). Also try giving eqgame.exe execution privileges, it may not have them by default (by typing "chmod +x eqgame.exe" or similar).

Isn't the WRPatcher down? Try downloading the patchfiles directly from WR site and change your eqhost.txt file to this

[Registration Servers]
{
"register.eqemulator.net:5999"
}

"stewie.eqemulator.net:5997"
}

tried all that ..with wine package according to it ..you can just double click the window application (exe) and it should run it ... but when i run PatchWR.exe i get this error

Code:
PatchWR.exe:1227 in procedure Ix()
type_check failure

and also the other following errors:

Code:
PatchWR.exe:2099 in procedure Tt()

Code:
PatchWR.exe:2113
Global & Local Variables

My only other options i guess would be to try to port the patcher or maybe request for a port hehe. like i said earlier i can load Live Eq just fine.. even its patcher ... but for some reason cant Run WR's hehe
