Im running Windows Vista Home Premium on an Intel P4 Celeron 3.468 GHZ on a Quad Core Asrock Motherboard 1 gig memory and a 7300 video card with 512 on it, a realtek sound card, and a 400 gig sata HD. I never had a problem in the past with this system on SOD which I havent played in a year unfortunatley, but now that I am back I have shut windows firewall off, no antivirus running on it and I have managed to log in twice in 2 days. It does great up to you select your account enter password and click or hit enter and you are back on the desktop. So any ideas on how to fix this problem it is driving me nuts. I have checked to run it in compatability mode for xp and have checked to run it as administrator and it still doesn't want to log on. It takes a couple of hours of trying and if Im lucky I get on, PLEASE IM GETTING DESPERATE I NEED SOD NOW !!! WITHDRAWAL IS PAINFUL !!! Thanks in Advance to anybody with ideas on how to fix it!!!

Well that doesn't seem to help did all it said and in the debug text it is exiting with an eqmain.dll crash with an invalid access at virtual address 0x0014122c thanks for the input though. Also in the text it is giving fatal error in main thread code=c0000005 addr=0x1102436a

Ok I did finally get it fixed by re-installing Windows XP PRO and doing away with Vista Home Premium completely. So if anybody finds a fix for vista I would appreciate you letting me know, but for now I am happy that I can get back on SOD. Thanks for all the input and if I find a better fix I will post it on here.

Sorry I didn't see this before. I am running SoD on Vista Home Premium and it is working okay. I did have issues when I first logged on a few months ago, however. Two things you might want to look at:

1.) Windows Hotfixes that came during the year you were off. A clean install may take the Vista OS back to a time before the clash with SoD.
2.) Possible dual/quad core issues with processor affinity. The patcher was changed to help with processor affinity as you can now bind to a processor when you run the patcher.

Hope this helps.
