Why did new patcher?

Change my maps? I didn't want the WR maps. I now have a hell of a time finding Halas in Everfrost because I can't see the outlines of the mountains like I did on the live maps. Can I please keep my old maps without the patcher replacing them again?
 
download the WR maps via the files link, i use them. all wintersroar labels.... and your mountains will have outlines
 
i dont use textured backgrounds so my maps are white lines with black background... yellow text. Easy read.
 
i see fine with contacts... I can focus in on individual pixels on the screen actually.

Its just unreadable written in bright yellow text on top of that background. I could probably tweak out the video settings, but why not just make it black text and fix it for everyone else.
 
Right click on the map and change from texture to tint color, picking a dark color. Or set the faded level to 0. Then yellow text will stand out nicely.
 
Or better still. Click on the little compass on the lower right hand of the map and it will open up an editing menu. Click on the location where the yellow text is, then click edit text on the new edit window that opened up when you clicked the compass. Choose a color, save the map and your done. Then exit the editor.

Or if that is too complicated, go into the maps directory of your folder, open up the appropriate maps, and then edit the colors. The color of the text is after the /loc's. Since they are yellow, look for 255, 255, 0... To change them to black, replace the 255 with a 0 (zero).
 
The patcher only updates maps on first time, repatch all, or on updates, so you can just back them up and move them back over on the rare occasion it downloads the WR maps.
