1. Why are their two winters roar websites(Reign of Razuel and Trail of Tears) with slightly different procedures on getting started. www.wintersroar.com and http://wintersroar.com

2. What exactly does the hotfix do? If my game seems to be running fine do I need it? How can you tell if you need it? I had to use the update help files for OOW even though I dont have it, was getting black screen.

Sorry I dont have the answer to your questions however I wanted to give you a big thanks for pointing out the duel front page thing. My bookmark was pointed to the old (pre ToT) home page and never even knew the other existed.
 
One is the new website that got implemented yesterday.
The hotfix is the OoW fix, the character create fix (and maybe some other stuff), put into an .exe so it's easier for new players to install.
 
When in doubt, CTRL-F5... make sure you're not viewing a half-cached page. Oh and there is only one site.
