Who is behind him ?

Dalayan Beginner
I seek the wisdom of my tribe elders.

It is my dearest desire to see the Iksar Empire be whole again.
At least one major obstacle stands between me and my dream, the Necromancer Kaezul.

It is my undestanding that he is using the remains of our empire to achieve "his" own goals. Not of conquest but of destruction.

It is my belief that he works for another being, one that gave him his powers. One that helped him forge his armies. I do not believe that his strength comes from himself and the Iksar Empire.
As we know our Empire was destroyed and our people dispersed living like savages in the Jungles of Ikisith.

Wiz says, '597 BF - Elven explorers discover the Iksar, at the time a primitive society carving a living out of the ruins of Ikisith.'
Wiz says, '94 BF - Age of Kaezul begins. Iskar raiders, the soldiers of a new Iksar Empire founded by the Necromancer Kaezul, strike against isolated elven settlements around the New World. The High King dies suddenly in a mysterious accident, leaving no heirs and throwing the Old World into a squabble for power.'

My question is simple, how can Kaezul have created an Empire powerful enough to conquer the world in less than 500 years ?
It took all the others races thousands of years to build their strengths. Granted they are mammals but still...

The wisdom i seek is this one, who is behind Lord Kaezul ?
Once we know that then his goals will likely be clearer.
Once we know that we can maybe find a way to destroy him.

Progress is a state of mind. The old, failed civilizations that were cleansed by Kaezul were unfocused and stagnant; their demise was inevitable and necessary either through internal turmoil or by an external, purging force. Kaezul rose to power because of his clarity of purpose, not any qualities inherent in scaled ones as a whole. Rarely has destiny been shaped by groups as opposed to visionary and capable individuals, though exceptions do come to mind. There is no reason to believe that Kaezul is the pawn of a mysterious force; five hundred years to do what he has is hardly any accomplishment compared to what we ourselves have done.

In the scant half century since we first survivors of the Fall set our foot upon Erudian soil, we have not only regained but surpassed the power of the old civilizations. I have walked the planes, challenged the power of the gods and unlocked secrets best kept that way: whom of the old fools could claim such things? Kaezul is a tool of healing. He has restored our clarity of mind and purpose, and driven the capable to once again guide the hand of destiny. Nevertheless, Kaezul is imperfect: his reign has been of one destruction not because it suits his goals, but because he was incapable of properly handling any further expansion of his empire. There is no need for any further research or absurd theories in order to destroy Kaezul; his reign will, in time, end as a natural progression of things because he is incapable of long term dominance. It is, if you will, inevitable and necessary.

I have given much toughts to your words and they do not strike me as acceptable surely because you cannot grasp how we, Iksars, think.

You are comparing what you have achieved in a few years with the building of a civilization. I have no doubt that you and the ones of your guild have achieved huge personal powers in a short time, yet you are only a small group that has learned fast. Not, a civilization that had to be rebuild. No Empire can be built in one day.

Also, we Iksars are conquerors. Kaezul has not conquered, he has destroyed.

Hence I repeat my question : Who seeks the destruction of most of Dalaya and why ?
That could easily lead to why does the Mass seems to be fighting (?) Tarhyl (surprisingly the elders say that, He favors power over knowledge and brute force over finesse. He enjoys pain, cherishing in crushing a foe.).

Perhaps his motives are religious, he may follow a god who enjoys destruction for its own sake. Certainly many a Lord of Entropy would be pleased to reduce civilization to ruins and the land to a barren waste in pursuit of their twisted philosophy. Such motivations are not easily understood by rational folk.
