whats a good starting class?

well ive played eq1 a longg time ago when i was ammo noob, played a few classes, dont remeber much, my highest level was 21 lol but whats a good class without being rich to twink him out and etc? how are rogues in this game? they seem like they would be different then the other rogues in like WoW since i unno eq1 confuses me with the 10 spells max at a time thing :/

I've always prefered melee over casters, but thats just me..
Rogues are supposedly best dps in SoD, but you'll have a harder time soloing..
if your looking for easy solo class, monks are awesome, im sure many of the caster classes are fine solo too, if your into all that jive..

umm, it says im a shaman, and when i picked my class i picked warrior, is that suppost to happen?

Nope. If it says "Shaman", you're a Shaman. If you want a Warrior, re-roll.

Your class choice can be altered when you switch races in the character creation process. Always pick your race first and your class second. I *think*, though I'm not certain, that it can get messed up again if you backtrack at some later point.

Personnally, for starting characters, I tend to suggest Hybrids. That way, you have 9 levels to get used to the hack n' slash game, and you get a slow introduction to magic from level 9 on.
