What is Rootfruit? [Brewing]

I skipped this drink but someone brought it up in ooc and irc and no one knew.

searched hear and only post that talked about it was in the brewing revamp thread and someone there was
also asking what it was. I always assumed it was a foraged item.

It is in the Brewer's Recipe Collection
 
Aye, that was me that asked last night in /ooc and in IRC. I have randomly asked like that for the last several months, and I am nearing the point where I will want to start making Ranger's Delight (which uses the elusive rootfruit). Any help would be greatly appreciated.
 
I have tried Kalish (Bottle + Water Flask + Rootfruit + Vegetables) with foraged roots, but its a DNC. Haven't tried Ranger's Delight yet, but figured it would have the same outcome.
 
Anyone have any info on this yet? Is it foraged? Combines from foraged roots and something else with a tradeskill? (brewing or baking?) Vendor bought, from a mysterious, unknown vendor somewhere? Rare drop from some elusive mob? Please, help!
 
I never could figure it out when I was leveling brewing, so just skipped the recipes and assumed it was never put in game.
 
So, how do I get in touch with the dev who would know if Rootfruit actually does exist in-game, or if it was added to the brewing books and recipes by mistake? In the event that it doesn't exist in-game, is it possible to get it added, or maybe amend the Kalish and Ranger's Delight recipes to use something else?
 
You should ask Xardon to talk to Aillar about it, he might hold the infos you are looking for. He has some ranger delight so he probably has a good idea where rootfruit comes from since he probably made it himself.
 
Aye, unless his combines were done pre-brewing revamp, when the recipe was:
Pod of Water x 2, Glob of Slush, Berries, Vegetables, Bottle

I hope thats not the case though.
 
Yes it exists in the game, I have one on me. I think it is a foraged item and even then very rare. Out of like 10 stacks of forages I have one rootfruit.

I am not sure where I foraged it from. It was probably foraged in a pass through zone like mistwoods or erimal.

It might have been in wbadlands If i forage some more when i get on tonight I will let you know.

There was a reason this recipe was on wiki as broken =) Since no one can ever get the rootfruit. I know I gave up on it after several weeks of looking myself and just maxxed brewing
 
Well Maethor claimed to have forged one, so the item allegedly exists in game (it is definately in the items database), however, it might just be extremely rare (or currently bugged). Either way, an admin is looking into it and will post their findings when they have a free moment.
