What is Launchpad? It seems to be keeping me from playing.

I patched EQ with the sodpatcher, pressed "Patch and Run", then I chose the *********.exe file like it pretty much told me too. Ive installed this on my other computer and it went fine for some reason. With this computer though it asks me to install "Launchpad" which seems to unpatch the SoD. I uninstalled everything then installed it again and its still doing it. What should i do? Please advise.
