What class should I play if I want to have little downtime?

I don't like downtime so I want to play the class that has the smallest amount of downtime of them all. I was thinking that bards might have little downtime because they don't have mana and they have hp regen songs and I believe charm-kitting might also have little downtime(if that strategy is possible here).

So is bard the best class when it comes to downtime or what class has the smallest amount of downtime of them all?

I only have 1 comp so I can't dual box.

bard has very little downtime depending on which method you use to kill things. in the early levels there will still be downtime since you're basically a melee with minor regen... but later on when you can kite, there is virtually no downtime at all, you can kill something and hop right on to your next victim -- BUT, there is a tradeoff... bard generally takes longer to kill things compared to many other classes, so in my opinion it kind of evens out. I'd say bard is more of a "constant action" class even though they take longer to kill stuff.

if you only have one pc you can Duel Client.. run everquest twice on your same machine.... you'll want advice and assistance setting it up however

I found with mage there is little downtime as well. Killing dark blue can be very constand depending on how you play.

Also, necros, beastlords, enchanters can have little downtime.

Alot of it is how well you know your class as well.

little downtime?

If you want little downtime, you want a class that can avoid taking hits, and kill for no mana.

ie a strong pet class (Necro / mage) or a bard.

Bards around 30+ can have zero downtime. Lag, roamers, whatever can cause downtime to heal or recover from a death.

Mages can have the next least amount of downtime, in my opinion. But that is dependent on gear and skill. The only downtime from the mage is waiting on mana for those harder kills, or when you get adds, provided you have the skill and knowledge to not die from the encounter.

Necros are on a par with mages, more or less. Lower level necros can have more downtime than higher level ones, of course. Again, mana issues (they have more gear and better lich spells later).

Biggest things you need to think about:

1. How dedicated to being your best do you want to be. If you push to be your best, know your class and the mobs, etc, the above downtime guesses can apply to you.

2. How busy do you want to be. Lazy people need not apply to be a bard. Mages/necros aren't necessarily lazy, but they aren't *required* to be as busy of course.
