Hi everyone. Recently I've been going on some pickup raids and snagged a couple T5-6 weapons. Before I just had these 3 and it was pretty easy to figure out which ones to use:

Flow
Secondary
Atk Delay: 36
DMG: 18
Skill Mod: 1H Slashing +12
STR: +15 STA: +10 CHA: +10 WIS: +5 INT: +5 HP: +100
SV MAGIC: +15

Dis's Shank of Betrayal
Primary Secondary
Skill: Piercing Atk Delay: 22
DMG: 16
Focus Effect: Focused Force
Effect: Spook (Combat, Instant)
STA: +12 AGI: +8 DEX: +10 INT: +10 CHA: +12 HP: +80 MANA: +105
SV FIRE: +5 SV COLD: +5 SV POISON: +5

Hammer of the Giants (Pristine)
Primary
Skill: 1H Blunt Atk Delay: 45
DMG: 35
STR: +16 STA: +16 HP: +55
WT: 1.0 Size: GIANT

So I would use the Hammer in primary and Shank in 2ndary. Life was good. If I was going to be
only using my bow, I would use Shank/Flow in b/c of superior stats.

But now I have these 2

Fjorleif
Primary Secondary
Skill: 1H Slashing Atk Delay: 28
DMG: 18
Cold DMG: 8
Effect: Winter's Strike (Combat)
STR: +5 DEX: +10 AGI: +10 HP: +75 MANA: +75

Stormrazor
Secondary
Skill: 1H Slash Atk Delay: 20
DMG: 16
Effect: Careless Lightning (Combat, 0.0)
STR: +10 AGI: +20 DEX: +5
PR: +7 DR: +7

Stormrazor has the best ratio out of all of them, so I put that in secondary unless I need stats. But out of the other 3 I don't know which one to use when I want the best pure DPS. Hammer has the best ratio. But Fjorleif has a good ratio if the Cold Dmg goes through. Shank's proc is awesome for melee duoing so I always use that when I'm tanking.

If you guys have any suggestions that'd be cool. Also I know I could always parse but I can't really figure out how to set it up.
 
You should never melee with flow , its a piece of shit.

The best weapons are Fjorleif/Stormrazor but the reality is having that much elemental damage is very bad outside of doing experience groups with lower level mobs. Higher level mobs more damage roll fails and your going to be using a weapon worse than the hammer. tl;dr use the hammer on raids if your not bowing

Out of curiosity have you ever actually parsed that sort of thing?

I had icegouge from pofrost, it was a piece of shit in potorment and I never took it out of the bank again. I believe zaela said it was all or nothing on elemental damage and that its success rate was based on their current resist and their level, dark blue trash mobs with one? cold resist were basically putting the weapon to shame and I decided to never entrust a high elemental damage weapon ever again.

Ebb is even worse. Actually I can't think of any decent melee weapons from Dmaps. The bow is pretty terrible too. Flow is about the best weapon that drops on that tier of map, but I too banked it with my rogue after I got Blackblade from the war. I was using Charged Driveshaft and Flow and changed to Fleshripper + Blackblade. Damage seems much more consistent when relying less on elemental damage.

I do like bane dmg weapons though. Those are much better to keep in bags as they are far more predictable for raising dps when you know what type of mobs you'll be fighting (Spider Smasher yay). Nice to be able to swap weapons based on encounters without relying on random resist checks. Avoidance/AC/Defense should be the only "resists" I worry about when playing melee. :)
