Weapons with lower level requirements with procs.

There is a couple weapons that seem kind of odd that don't proc until very much later. Weapons such as Crystalline bow and Revenant's Blade. Is there any way to fix it??

I put in some feedback about this before. One of the items is that 31/32 weapon with a requirement of 38. The weapon also has a right click dd but even at 41 it cannot be used. I think it would make good sense that the further restrictions be lifted now that you basically can't twink out newbies with great proc'ing items.

But the level restriction, as I understand it, is based only on the weapons dmg/dly ratio. It the proc/clicky were taken into account, the level restriction would have to be made higher to compensate. Leaving the effect restrction on allows you to wield the weapon earlier but not have the benefit of the proc, keeping it balanced.

I understand where you are coming from with this. However, In the case of revenant's blade, Yaulp III is a Level 44 cleric spell. Shouldn't it proc at 44 then?

Explain Krizbits Jabber then. 11/22 Piercer thats useable at ~35. The effect is Cleanse (a 5hp heal and i think maybe a disease cure) that doesn't proc till level 50. Its a good dagger with the stats but the effect is quite laughable.

know what would be great?

an additional stat that indicates what lvl weapons proc at

this has been overlooked forever

I have a moth eaten tree swatch 5/10 1hb proc: drifting death.....and still have no clue when it proc's at. Everytime i ding a level i pray to the lobster gods but no luck yet ( on my 44 ranger )

Client restrictions. We simply can't add it.

When the level restrictions were first added, I believe it was said that they did indeed take procs into account.

thanx for response zodium, thats 2 bad the code doesnt allow for that.
the "proc mystery" has always been a dilemma for me.

If SoD staff does not want the items 2 proc as soon as you can equip it, how about bringing back the spell Identity( i believe this doesnt exist on sod as far as i know). Then you can add information as to the level it procs.... or another solution is to add the info for every weapon that proc's onto wiki

P.S. does any1 know when Moth Eaten Tree Switch procs at? the person who sold it to me has no clue and no1 has ever even heard of this item existing when i ask in /ooc

i'm missing something. The proc levels can't be changed because of client restrictions? If that is it i undertand fully.

The proc levels can be changed, but we can't add something that would tell you when they proc. Also, having it proc at the level you can equip it would force a huge required level on items because of powerful procs (even if the weapon is otherwise ordinary).

Warclub of the Frost is another similar item.

Don't have specific stats, but it has a required lvl of 38-39 and didnt start procing (Blessing of the Frost: +10 str and an 11hp heal seems to be all it does) until I turned 50. Of course now its a bit low and needs to be replace.

yes rab, zodium eloquently pointed that out for us in 2 words but thanx for your contribution.

The bottom line is that a dilemma exists because the proc level is a mystery.

- If there is no way to change the game to allow the proc level to be known, how about an official list online? Either on wikipedia or through a list command.

- Whats wrong with my idea about supplying this info through casting Identify spell?

Even when you are buying or selling a weopon, knowing the proc lvl is definately a factor in the price. I hate when people don't know and we are all left guessing. My best weopon i own, i still have no clue when it procs and i dont like that and many people experience this problem. Yes, i can live without this info and still enjoy sod... but maybe put raherin to work, she has plenty of time to go around illusioning people for hours on end apparently.

peace in the middle east!

I'm not asking for the weapon to proc at the required level. I'm asking for the weapon to be able to proc when the spell or ability would be available for use. Yaulp III is a 44 Cleric spell. Therefore, shouldn't a sword with yaulp III as the combat ability proc at 44?

In most cases, procs and clicky effects are 20 or more levels BEHIND casting effects. The level ranges tighen a bit if it is a class item casting a class spell.

However, I just do not see a warrior being able to use a spell effect, even as a proc, that a paladin cannot cast YET going over all that well with the paladins.

"EDIT" affects typo /shakeshead

Just because a 62 Paladin can cast Wave of Light or a 39 Shaman can cast Torgor's Insects, doesn't mean that at the corresponding levels a weapon should proc the effect... that would be enormously overpowering. Mogger is right, most of the time when an effect is used it is quite a few levels behind casting effects.

Can one of you GM's please let me know when Moth Eaten Tree Switch proc's ?

Why must i be left in the dark? ... also i'm a platinum member so it couldnt hurt ya to make me happy ( laugh )

Thankfully outside of the little perks of pocketplane and the sow boots this holds no weight. Just because you donate doesn't make you special. It says you really do enjoy what the game is and what the SoD staff has done.

Don't mean to come across as an ass, but statements like that irk me a little.
