Weapon Models

I'm a huge nerd on weapon models especially end-game for monks.

Some of my favorite models include: Shinai of the ancients from Time, and Rune Etched Bamboo Bo from Solro Temple. Along with Knuckledusters and a few other classic monk weps.

So what im asking is, are these models used? What do some of the mid to end game monk weapons look like?

Screenshots, if available, would be awesome! :D
 
Not sure what those weapon models are of you speak, but Back in the day I played a monk and did the quest for the epic fists weapon in live... I have seen that weapon model on a few peeps here (the swirly ying/yangs)

Mruuk's Combat Boka is the same as the Shinai I believe. Or at lest very similar; same particle effect on a short baton type thingy. There might be one or two other weapons in SoD with that particle effect but I honestly can't remember.

One of my favorite weapon graphics was Vanazir, Dreamer's Despair from PoTime. There are 2 monk weapons (and maybe a caster staff or two) with that graphic that I'm aware of. One is from a ~tier 5 raid mob (which is about a third of the way through the raid progression here) and the other is from a much higher tier fight.

There honestly aren't a ton of fist weapons on the raid scene, mainly since they are only used by two classes. There are a few different glowing fist models, some claws, and that's about it. There are at least 2 or 3 newer ones from the recent expansion but I'm unsure what graphics they have in game.
 
As far as SoD goes you're looking at Screamstrike, Baton of the Forlorn and Mruuk's Combat Boka, respectively. The former is a tier...idk 7? raid drop and the other is dropped by a 65 xp mob, is buyable, and fully functional at...lvl 42? I might be off a hair, it's late =(

I'll see if I have any screenshots with some higher-end monk weapons in 'em here in a few


EDIT: I looked....and the one or two screenshots I have with our monks in them they are dead naked bodies or all you can see is their feet...they're all slackers

That would be sweet, Dimmi.

And its exciting and good to know at least one of my favorite models is attainable somewhat early on.
 
Haha I have a screamstrike and completely forgot about it. Mainly because I used it one time to parse it and it's not as good as any other similar tier options.
 
Quest reward from a tier 9ish zone, can take a while to obtain since one of the pieces is rather hard to get and highly sought after, and since there are like 6 different weapon pieces that share the same source.
 
This is obviously the best looking weapon in the game.. its a shame its only used for low tier weapons. A new weapon needs to be added so you can use this and a huge shield in your offhand.
