this is mainly just a rant but i have noticed that many a useless "nobody would ever use these!" weapons are out there that have really nice graphics. i would list some but i am afraid that they would be nerfed into something lame.

What i would like to see is some new (or old) weapons could have their graphics replaced into these maybe cause i find it sad that swords such as the Patriarch, Sword of the Ruler have the same graphic as the lvl 36ish bard howling Sword. i find over-used weapon graphics to be wtf-lolz why?

if i get enough support ill post some pics of said cool graphic-ed weapons in game ect.
 
Graphics for weapons were just recently revamped. (This is not an official staff decision, only my opinion, but...) I don't see them getting overhauled again any time soon. You have to realize we have an older client, and only so many graphics to choose from. End result being graphics that are used over and over again. :(
 
yeah im aware of older client = less things to choose from but as i said these specific weapons i came across seem to be only ones in game with these graphics with the possibily of some being used on micealanious (bad spelling i know) gear. ill post some cut out pics of those of which i speak soon.

In regards to Gm view. i have no clue what it takes to change all this stuff nor will i ever truly understand. thats why this is merely a suggestion/request not a demand (not that i could demand anything anyway). but perhaps what is said/agreed upon here could be used as a premise for future weapon revamps ect.

feel free to post ones that havent gotten any love, though; that'd be handy
 
Make me a staff for off hand that looks like the Staff of the Four. Best Staff graphic ever used on live. That thing is :toot:

Sure that graphic is really cool, but it would really be ugly in an offhand. It's much much too big!

from what expansions? everything up to PoP? LDoN?
 
I don't claim to understand or know of every graphic in use but as far as I've seen Epic graphics haven't seen much (any?) use.
 
Some epic graphics are in use: Shaman (NToV spear), Necro (Manis 2hblol), Rogue (Bonesunder) and Paladin (Dawnbringer or something from NToV) at least.
 
I gave Patriarch the graphic it has because I felt it fit with the name. If you can find a better sword graphic for it I'm sure we'd consider changing it, but in my opinion it's a fitting graphic.
 
its not that patriarch doesnt look good with that graphic i just found it ironic that it looks like the bard sword. but one idea that could be used for patriarch is the old ren'tali festering blade graphic before it got changed to the saw blade (dont have a pic but some of you should remember)
 
Patriarch looks great as it is now. The Blade of the Gathering graphic (the one neodiahs is referring to) looks cool and everything but wouldn't fit with the sword.

personally, i'm very very anti- any changes to current item graphics. The only time i have an exception to this is when great high end items look like rusty shortswords.

Even when i don't like how an item or group of items looks, i wouldn't advocate changing the graphic if its been around forever. For example, its kinda lame that if you have a prison-level guild... every single caster is using a the same blue eqlive time-1hbasher, either as a sultan wand or irandos.
 
yeah i can understand that too. some people have gotten so used to certain weapons and their graphics when they are changed people wont be able to recognize them as quickly. in some cases that is bad and some good.
one weapon i really want to see changed is stick figure like graphic of a sword known as rotblade. yeah i know the blackblade kinda signifies the rot part but it looks so crappy to my eyes. mypally actully uses the revanants blade and it looks good. i actually have a decent sword graphic in mind for it once i post em all here (ill mark it of course)
