"Warrior" Weapons

Severien

Because of the changes to the way aggro works, warrior weapon selection has changed significantly. While a lot of weapons are still fine (like Frostwrath and Funeral Guardian's Tonfa), most of the older weapons have very mediocre delays and are far too fast. Since a very low delay weapon is an open invitation to taking extra damage, these weapons are now fairly undesirable.
I believe many of the weapons which were traditional weapons to use climbing the tiers should be rebalanced, since aggro itself was rebalanced. Among the weapons I think need tweaked are (but not limited to):

Patriarch, Sword of the Ruler
Wailfury
Flamescar

Patriarch and Wailfury are no longer viable tanking weapons, and Flamescar, though viable, is no longer as awesome as the lengthy and difficult quest dictates it should be. These weapons should have their delay bumped up significantly, and if they are to be truly good choices they need a small bump in their ratios as well. There are weapons not on this list that while less iconic, used to be other good choices that no longer are.
Edit: Please move this to S&R.

I don't like near-useless vestigial raid drops any more than the newby guilds that are going to have them wasting spots on their loot tables.
Also, warriors that are actually progressing (does such a thing exist?) have next to nothing to choose from until some of the really iconic DPS 1handers start to drop.

I firmly support this too.

Although not to deviate too far from topic, it's important to look alot of the tier 2-3 knight 1 handers alo.

Tooth Row, Emberflow droppable 1 hander (post name if you have it), fleshblister.

But yes, Flamescar, Wailfury, Prismatic Crystalline Katana, Patriach, definitely need to be on the list, I'd even argue Ytraz could use a bump in base delay maintaining the same ratio as not to overpower. Just for how long and demanding the quest is, while now fast swing speeds are not ideal.

Longstaff of the Cold and the SE Claws should be on the list as well (maybe Spear of the Great Hunt too?).

Flamestrike Mace Cane of Calefaction Obsidian Shanker Splitblade of Darkness Dagger of the Chosen Strategists Dart Stoneculler Flame-Forged Longblade Fist of Solid Ice Demonshear Quickwind Baton Akzalk, Shard of the Mirror Ruby Hilted Longsword Fjorlief Twilight Rapier Wretch Skullcracker Screamstrike, Baton of the Forlorn

Alright well I don't remember any more off the top of my head, but if you had a point, I didn't get it.

I agree that some of the weapons in question should be changed, but most of the items you listed are not intended for use in tanking.

I think he was making the point that there are a bunch of DPS 1handers that now suffice as tank weapons because of the changes made to aggro.

The point is most of the "dps" weapons are now completely viable as tank weapons due to the changes. They may have be meh or blah in the past, but now they range from ok to dang, dats sum nice aggroz

I'm assuming the suggestion is to change the "tank" weapons of yore to higher delay, higher dmg versions of their current incarnations, keeping the same ratio and thus the same aggro, while making them superior than they are currently (from a tanking standpoint)

I have to say, while many need changed, I really think flamescar should be a priority on that list at the least. It is a pain to do the quest and was intended to be top end(pre-Caex). Now it is quite mediocre. The proc is still great, but the agro and stats don't really make up for the difficulty.

At 16/18 Flamescar should still be pretty great aggro, but what kills it is having an 18 delay weapon and knowing you're eating extra damage for using it. IMO after doing that much work to get it, you shouldn't have to feel bad about using it on raid mobs.

I wonder if there has been any consideration about these weapons, as they were previously designed to be the in the progression of warrior weapons and now you hope to not need them.
