Warrior Weapon Ratio question

Does added elemental damage affect the agro generated based on ratio? For instance, axe of brawn is 20/25 with 1 magic damage. Is this considered a 21/25 for agro purposes or a 20/25.

I wondered about this when I recalled someone mentioning that elemental damage might not be factored into a rogue's dagger for backstab.(Not sure if that's true or not but i think it is)

Actually if anyone feels like explaining the intricacies of elemental damage, such as resist rates and value that would be awesome.

Aggro generated scales with the amount of effective dps a weapon produces. So if you are fighting a mob with low magic resist, the Axe of Brawn will do more average dps as opposed to a high MR mob and in turn produce more aggro.

Aggro is not generated by ratio in a direct way. It's added by dealing damage and per swing (scaled to weapon delay).

Gee wow. Yeah, didnt' realize the stupidity of that train of thought until it was pointed out. hahaha

So I see you saying is:
MELEE AGGRO = Melee Damage + Swings (weapon ratio)

or more likely
MELEE AGGRO = [Melee Damage * x] + [swings * ratio * y]
x = unknown melee damage value
y= unknown swing value

Is that pretty close?

metvayne1 and Wesell are correct in that the aggro is affected by elemental damage based on the increased damage it adds, not directly by the change in ratio.

Notpit, no, swings is adjusted by the delay, not the ratio.
