Warrior Stigma

Was hoping folks might be willing to share some on the dark cloud that seems to hang over rolling a Warrior. From all accounts it sounds like you'd likely never find a home and/or its up hill in six feet of snow both ways to get to raid-worthy status. Thoughts/opinions?

Thanks much.

Here is what happens:
People have a warrior in a guild with lots of gear and a charm
He is almost always boxed because real players of warriors dont exist.

You are a new warrior with little gear and no charm and even if they accepted you it would be possible for you to drop ship and waste their time.

Any guild who opts to box a character over have a real person play their toon is retarded save circumstances where the person is so bad they literally cannot be trusted on their own class(bango).

You can always form your own guild/try to get in a new one or try to get into a higher tier guild by playing their warrior for hard stuff/scamming loot on yours, etc. You can also get a lot of progress without an actual guild now because droppables basically shit on the first four? tiers of loot and the most important thing on your character to prove dedication is your charm which can be gotten by undergeared but dedicated players.

I appreciate the shout out, if only I was more like Plaps.. that dudes hips are wide enough to carry anyone..

On topic I think a lot of the opinions you see on the forums are blown out of proportion (including 100% of my own). Yes it is harder to find a guild as a tank than most other classes. Yes it takes a lot of hard work and dedication. However, there are a lot of guilds in this game spanning from casual to hardcore. If you prove yourself to be a good player and have solid play time I doubt you will have any difficulty finding a guild within a reasonable time horizon.

Hailene can use another tank. Look at our guild thread here. If it looks ok, and you think you fit, gimme a shout in game.

As far as tanks finding a home, it can be frustrating. But as the cycle seems to go, a handful of guilds start up every year. Be willing to play, know something of agro management, a 65 tank can find a home, with patience. Box a cleric and increase your chances.

Great, I really appreciate the responses. Very encouraging, the Warrior was my first toon in EQ - excited to return to it.

Anyone more gems of information y'all feel like spewing in here will be appreciated too...going to lurk around the forums/wiki in the meantime.

1.) Be patient. Seriously, don't get discouraged.
2.) Box a healer.
3.) Create your own groups.

Only scummy people would do this.

Keep in mind that if you make it as a tank, warrior, sk or pal - you will have people lining up to be your best friends.

fuwok was in goon squad when we were using a boxed charmed tank so he was like the '2nd warrior' or whatever and look where he is now... so just be like fuwok
