Before I reformatted my machine, I have had no issues running SoD as a limited user under Vista Home Premium 32-bit by using virtualization, using either EQW or just EQ.
However - I just reformatted my machine and copied back over the SoD files I had before the reformat. EQ decided to quit out after the patcher is finished patching. Running as admin, patcher works, but I consistently get that error that I would normally get if my connection to the server is bad.
Running under EQW seems to work fine, whether I'm running as a limited user or as an administrator.
I've got .NET 1.1 installed, all updates downloaded and installed, and DirectX 9.0L and DirectX 10 installed, and firewalls disabled for EQ and SoD. What else am I missing? Seems the only hardware change I've made since the format is the installation of a new UPS.
