Vista 64. Cannot Get EQ working.

I followed the step by step instructions posted on these forums. I get to the SoD patcher and hit "patch and run" and it does it's thing bringing up the EQW Beta 2.35a screen. I hit "Start EQ (with the executable launch set to my eqgame.exe file) and a screen comes up with the Shards of Dalaya rules. This is as far as I can get. If I leave it alone, it just stays there. If I click or hit my keyboard buttons, it goes away, but nothing happens after, no errors pop up, nothing. Anyone know what I need to do?

Yes, I'm running in compatability mode.

Yes, I'm running as administrator.

my .net is up to date

IIRC....you don't need .net framework anymore since the new patcher.

I don't know how to fix your problem...But I will be curious since I'm upgrading my rig and will be using Vista 64 as well.

Is vista not allowing the program to run for some reason? Some type of setting issue, SOD bound to single core if you are using dual/quad core?? /shrug
I don't know much about vista yet.

I had no problems running SoD on Vista 64, except for the performance problems i mentioned in the other thread.

On TOPIC: Since the last screen you see is the SoD Rules, the next step would be

*Selecting Your Video Card*

Since you magically seem to crash before being able to select it, you might want to check your graphics driver, and see if you can get an upgrade. It might solve your problem

If the newer drivers don't work.....then perhaps an older set might. Might have to play around with a few sets.

Ok.

I have the updated graphics drivers for my card, so I downgraded, same thing. Now though, I'm not seeing the SoD Rules, it shows like it wants to load, then skips and goes to the agreement screen. On the agreement screen however, I cannot do anything. I cannot scroll down, can't hit decline, can't hit accept, it just freezes. The only way for me to get out of that screen is to hit Alt-Ctrl-Del and go to restart. Once it goes to ask if I really want to restart, i can hit cancel and the program is gone. . . weird.

Well, it sounds like it's given a locked focus to the agreements screen which doesn't want to display. Would be curious what would happen if you hit tab and enter. (tab and enter works for me on non-vista in that screen.)

Chances are, even if that lets you past the hiding agreement window, there will be another problem.

I'm having the same problem as the original post, and would really like to know how to get past the rules and into the game. If anyone has any help on this issue, that would be great.

Don't bump up year old posts. We hate that. Create a new thread.
