video problem (or so I think)

Hi, I just returned to WR after a long period of not playing. I installed EQ again, set up EQEmu (with many problems), and couldn't get the WR patcher to work. It gave me an error, and following the instructions for it, I sent the .err file and the required text to the appropriate email address. Afterwards, after many attempts at getting EQEmu/WR to work, my friend and I figured it must be a video card problem.

Realizing that I have "custom" ATI drivers, and not official ones (I had an Omega driver), I decided to go back to official ATI. After messing around with those, I could connect to WR without crashing, and I can now play. Well, I soon discovered another problem: Luclin skins. I went to the EQ options, and chose all skins to be Luclin. Well, to my surprise, it said that I can't use more than 2 Luclin skins, while I was previously able to use ALL of them. It detected 1023Mb of RAM, which seems to be correct, though. The next step in the options went fine, and I could choose the appropriate options, since it said my comp was good enough for the best ones.

Does anyone know what the problem is? If it's of any importance, I downloaded the file pack for people who can't get WR patcher to work, so could that have led to any problems?

Thanks for your help

The 2-selection thing is rather odd. For most people you can select more if you use the enter key instead of manually clicking next.

The Luclin models can be chosen by editing the eqclient.ini in your everquest (or wintersroar) directory. There should be options that appear something like USELUCLINHUMAN=TRUE or false... Im not at a PC with EQ installed so I cannot tell you exactly but it looks something like that.

Just set each of those to true that you want to see Luclin models on or false if you want to see the old models.

This is of course if you just cant get it to work in the options area. I know a few who couldnt even using the tricks listed on this site.

Hope this helps someone
