Hello

I have just a question about the Vendor List.

I would like to write a programm like that one that shows the Vendor List.
But i would like to add some options to it.

For example if iam press on a Vendor i would like to have an options that filters the kind of items it displays.

So i can select items for a class, or type slot etc...

The programm will *NOT* be designed for parsing the database and caching files etc or even make it searchable.

It will still work like the Vendor List on SoD but only with few options to filter the items that it displays when you press on a Vendor.

The programm itself will be the same as the Vendor List System on the SoD Site.

Is this allowed or will this be against the SoD rules like posted under:

*Parsing the Listing System*

We do not permit crawling the listsold system to make your own searchable snapshot, whether or not you share it with others.

Anyone caught parsing the logs/farming the database/whatever to create a searchable database of the listing system will be immediately and irrevocably banned.

A user-input database of who is selling what like the one Shrek is making is fine - you're free to make all the third party market systems you want, but you will not use the listing system in this way.

As the creator of that site, I can honestly tell you that when it was wrote (god that feels like a long time ago) that it took a ton of sniping of features to get it public.

I don't remember everything that got cut, but I would doubt that adding anything to it would probably be allowed. Since management has changed slightly this view maybe different, as well as I no longer maintain it (You can thank Miitru for his awesome work there).

In short, I don't think it would be advisable. Anything close to the "bazaar" type interface was shot down many moons ago. In game is where people should interact and spend their time, be thankful this was allowed at all. I'm not saying anyone isn't, just that it took quite a bit of cuts before it was even "allowed".

Of course this could change depending on today's views. Which it doesn't hurt to ask, I just wouldn't get your hopes up.

Since management has changed slightly this view maybe different

I'm not opposed to shutting that vendorlist down entirely (note: I haven't). Adding things to make it more friendly isn't really something I would support. That said, I think that's more Woldaff's domain than mine.

just wondering why your opposed to a little tweak like class/race search it would allow more time interacting with one another and less time melting your brain searching endless items lol
