It turns out our last few backups failed due to problems with the database, so instead of rolling back we will be doing our best to manually reverse excess cash created by this bug. In the mean while, the server will be down.

Due to a MAJOR bug in yesterday's patch where items could be bought for free with the listing system, and due to the fact that it went a full 24 hours before the bug was reported to the staff, we are forced to roll the character database back to pre-patch. This means that anything you did in the last 24 hours - character, item, skill and expwise will be undone.

We sincerely apologize to everyone who will be losing legitimate effort due to this, but we really do not have a choice if we want this server to have any kind of economy at all or want to keep the server down for days upon days as we root out all the abuses.

Experience gain will be doubled for the next 48 hours to compensate.

I hope there is much bannage handed out....jerks. Double exp is nice except for those of us who work Mon-Fri so have less time to play tonight than Saturday night. :(

Did I mention I hope people get banned?
 
Hopefully bans won't be thrown about willy nilly, I know I bought an item for 0pp yesterday when I bought a pair of earrings and paid double for one and none for the other.

EDIT: I misinterpreted this slightly, I thought the bug was that items could be sent without a price, not that after purchase the money wasn't subtracted.

Did you petition it? I mean it seems like if you noticed a big issue where you are getting an item without paying for it, might not be a bad idea to say something especially if you are benifiting from it somehow.

No, the seller told me he was doing it that way, sent me one for 0pp and I paid 100pp for second instead of the 50 apiece we agreed on.
 
Ah, so bad that the experience and items can not be rolled back independently. However, given the choice between losing the 5 levels I gained yesterday and playing on a server with a broken economy, I would choose the former. May I suggest that the double experience gained period to be next weekend rather than on a Monday and Tuesday?

P.S. Would hacking into the serer and equipping my characters with the best equipment be a bannable offense?

Yes would be my understanding... basically, everything will go back.

doesn't say anything outright about $ so it certainly doesn't hurt to ask. Being not familiar w/how char databases are set up here in the first place I don't think it's an unreasonable question.
 
I think as the problem/bug/exploit is all about money, bank 'accounts' will certainly be rolled back, but hey maybe I'm wrong, I hope I am :D

Awesome...I feel much better that I won't be losing my rune tokens, graxniv's head and various other thingies acquired. And my Saturday was not a waste! Yay!
