Undead charm and Me!

Hello again Wiz and crew! I must say that this new charm has brought me back to this game. Up untill the changes, I hadn't played in weeks. I LOVE my new charm, and thankyou very much for it!

However, I would like to ask for one more tweak. It seems like undead mobs (at least the ones i've tried) are inherintly highly magic resistant. I request that our new charm is tweaked to go, perhaps, disease or maybe poison resists?

If you go the disease route, you can call the charm "Zombify" or somesuch. We spread the disease of zombification to our undead targets, putting them under our controll.

It just seems somewhat unfair that necros can only charm undead, with a magic based charm, when undead are inherintly magic resistant. Just a request :)

P.S.
If undead are not inherintly MR, i guess you could disregard all of what I just said. ;p

Undead are not inherently magic resistant, all charm spells are easy to resist.

Oh ok, I was just curious.

Just yesterday I was resisted 11 times in a row, with one death, by an undead froglok in mielech C. When it did land on the 12 attempt, it lasted 15 seconds.

192 charisma (with potions) is pretty low, I know, so I won't start bitching hardcore till I get more Cha. ;p

Yea, that'd be the source of your worries. Here's some stuff you can do that'll help:

First, if you're part of a raiding guild, attempt to attain a Malicious Scepter and/or an Earring of the Watchful. These allow you to cast debuffs, which perform a similar roll as high charisma (and indeed, often you only need one or the other, but not both); as an added bonus, the Malicious Scepter comes stocked with 30 charisma itself. Even if you can't raid, you can also try to get the sceptre from freeport's enchanter guildmaster that has a clicky charisma buff. After (or during) that, concentrate on getting your charisma higher from gear. With a low native charisma like most necromancers, the Charm of Vanity is almost guaranteed to be a better bet than the Charm of the Mind, so I'd switch those out asap (vanity costs less and gives 15 cha). You already have a few very nice cha items, and no real -cha items, so it's clear you've been putting some thought into this already. Beautiful Golden Boots have nice cha and aren't much better/worse than what you're already using, and greenshields from the dragons in WW pack 20 int and 10 cha, so while you already have a gibbyhead in secondary, it might be worth the price of admission (and it's very easy to get).

Oh, and if you ever get a chance to have your charmed mob fight shamans or magicians, do it, because they often cast malo which has a big -MR debuff.

Thankyou for the info Thinkmeats! I didn't even think about the shaman idea.

Still, I have to land it before that even works. Sense I'm no longer able to raid, I think the charm and maybe a few buyables is all i can get for upgrades.

I estimate I can probably get +40 more charisma. Would that make it so that I don't get resisted 11 times in a row anymore?
