Unable to patch

1. Full clean install from original CDs
2. set permissions accordingly since I run Vista
3. Attempted to run patcher: unable to connect or patch
4. downloaded updated patcher/installed/copied: when I run it it is unable to download file _Game.exe. Gets to approx. 50% and fails.
5. unintstalled/reinstalled clean. Rinse. Repeat.

If i can get that file or the actual file I might be able to patch. I have tried everything I can find to make this work. The "Company's" tech help lead to the same results. Web search lead me to numerous additional help but to no avail.

My MSN is [email protected] feel free to message me. I would rather not choke up the boards with chatter back and forth until a solution is found. Too much chatter makes for a long search for a 2 second fix.

If you have a Ventrillo or Teamspeak2 server and wish to voice chat just let me know.

I am online now and will be for a while and look forward to ANY help that will get me up and running.

Seems I may have found the solution buried in the tech support knowledge base.

The TheGame gen files (TheGame general files) are just the most common files that tend to get corrupted. You will need to delete the following files below and the patcher will automatically redownload the default uncorrupted versions of the files.

You may want to delete the following files from your TheGame Directory (this is usually C:\Program Files\****\TheGame or C:\Program Files\TheGame

Delete the following and run the exe to patch.

eqclient.ini
eqgame.exe
eqgfx_dx8.dll,
eqgraphicsdx9.dll
eqmain.dll

Now I cannot get past the 303 error. Seems I need a couple files replaced and none of the patchers are doing the job.

Gonna take a break from this..wipe out everything Game and start over.

If anyone has any suggestions in the mean time please post them or links to them.
