Unable to log in.. First time using EQEmu.

Hi. I am new to EQEmu. I found out about WR on another forum and wanted to give it a try.

At first I did not have any part of EQ installed, but I made a EQEmu account and then installed EQ, Kunark, Velious, and Lunclin.

I patched the EQ patcher as I was forced too, then downloaded the WR Patcher and Hotfix. I properly installed them. When Patching with the patcher, I attempted to log in and enter my login/password. I get

EQEmu Error: Bad Login/Password.

I tried changing hosts from the EQHost.txt, i'm still not sure if I have the right one, the one i'm using now is the WR host.. I know there has been some EQEmu problems but I don't really know about all this yet since I am new to the scene, could someone perhaps enlighten me?
 
Winters Roar recently changed to it's own login server. Your EQ Host should be READ ONLY and look like this:

[Registration Servers]
{
"wintersroar.com:5999"
}
[Login Servers]
{
"wintersroar.com:5997"
}

I am not 100% sure that new entries are being accepted atm, due to the fact that the server is still being set up... but don't take my word. Wiz, Foonie, Melwin? Someone confirm this, or call me a crack pot?
 
I registered yesterday also (2/21) and I got the same bad username/password error.

My host txt file had "67.15.24.48":xxxx instead of "wintersroar.com" but that shouldn't have affected anything. I changed it and made the file read only but still get the error. Is the login server still using the backup/temporary lists that I've read about in the forums? I've been wanting to ask about my problem but it seems newbs get yelled at around here for not reading ;(. If the backup/temporary issue is in fact the situation, when are we expecting an update? Thanks.
 
I thought we updated, as of a few days ago. Same problem, with a newer backup. It won't just sit around, and I'm sure you problems will be solved soon. Sorry. :sadf:
 
Is there something else I need besides the WR hotfix and WR patchers? I'm new to EQEmu, something i'm missing off of the main site too?

yea i dont think new accounts are being accepted, with both my friends being rejected from the server login even when we used different comps and even made a third account on my files we couldent get in with newly made accounts. so yea.... somethings not letting new members in
