Unable to Load World

Greetings!

Old EQ player, new SoD player here. I've been playing SoD for a few weeks and just ran into my first issue. As I tried to zone into Mistwood with my little Necro, Syntris, I crashed to desktop. The error box said it was unable to find the zone "Tox". So I did some research and tried the following:

(Note: I downloaded the EQ installer to get my files. My old CDs are long gone. Thankfully, I remembered my old account names and passwords and thus was able to get the launcher to download the files.)

1. I went into the EQ folder, deleted the Tox.S3D file and then re-patched via the EQ launcher. Then I re-patched with the SoD launcher (with "Repatch All Files" checked) and tried to log into the zone again. Still the same error.

2. I deleted the EQ folder and re-downloaded the entire game placing it in a new folder. Went through the official setup steps and tried it again. Still the same error.

3. I've tried logging in on different computers, but I still get the same error. (All of the computers had the same install of the game though, so I am not shocked that one didn't work.)

If anyone has any advice on something else I can try, I would appreciate it! Thank you for your time.
 
you can't use the live patcher and then play sod, because it uses updated zones that aren't used here... you need a fresh install of titanium, without patching
 
Need the old zones, not the new zone. Do *not* need a full reinstall. Delete your Tox files & try the SoD patcher, without doing the EQ launcher.

your going to have alot of zones like this if u downloaded from Live. just have someone from in game Email you the zone files your missing. Mistwoods for example are anything labeled starting with Toxx..... PM me if noone can help u, ill gladly send you the zone files
 
Thank you for all the info! I love the fact that I get such a nostalgic feeling of playing the original EQ while, at the same time, also feel like I am playing an entirely new game. I will just go pick up another copy of the game as I can get it for around $10. That is a small price to pay for such a well run game.

I have the same problem as the OP.

So by deleting the tox file and repatching with SoD Patcher, that should fix it?
