I've scanned the forums for an answer to my problem but wasn't able to find one I haven't tried already. I've downloaded 5 different skins from EQinterface, placed them in the unifiles folder, logged on, typed /loadskin "___" and still nothing. asked while logged on what could be the problem was told maybe folders within folders but none of the skins have separate folders within them, so I am left confused to what i am doing wrong. If anyone out there can please offer some suggestions I would be very thankful seeing that I have no experience in programing.

i haven't played in a long time but i seem to remeber. a tap on the options that give the option to load UI's by the clicking a drop down box that will list the name of the ui's you have loaded inot the UI's folder in your EQ directory. the most common problem loading a custem UI is noramly putting them in the wrong folder with in the EQ directory

I have tried the options button but the only available skin is the default. As for error messages, there are none. I failed to mention when I try using the "/loadskin" method the screen freezes for a few seconds and all the windows seem to reset (i.e. the MOTD disappears along with any messages, etc.).

Your path should be something like

C:\Program Files\SoD\uifiles\<insert folder name>

There should already be a folder there named default. You CREATE a folder with <insert name>. So example, cleric ui... create a new folder named cleric. Download your files, put it in the C:\Program Files\SoD\uifiles\cleric folder.. NOT just in uifiles.

If you don't have the folder, then uh, it doesn't know where the files are. If you are only using pieces of a UI, then create a folder, copy (NOT MOVE) the contents of the default folder, and overwrite just the pieces you want to use.

please discard this thread! I found that my mistake was that i had two separate game folders and was placing the files in the wrong one. =/ thanks to all of you who tried to help.
