Just got everything patched, downloaded the full patch file from the site here, now i just gotta figure out how to make the game run without trying to connect to eq's patcher first, checked the eqhost.txt everything is good there, being in linux i can run sodpatcher but the other thread said i shouldn't have to so long as i've downloaded the full patch from here... i believe, anyways wondering if any ubuntu users out there could give me some quick [email protected]

I haven't done it recently much, but I run SoD on Ubuntu just fine, same as in windows, except windowd mode sucks - but fullscreen is A+. Make a Cedega link, or Wine link to 'eqgame.exe -patchme', and providing you did, as you say, patch the SoD files correctly, you'll be gtg!

Aye it simply directs me to run the the E(v)erquest.exe which patches to the live....it works fine if i run eqw but it's so slow and choppy as to not be worth playing

I believe i had this problem before when running dalaya on windows just need to get eqgame.exe to run the game rather than telling me to run E(v)erquest.exe

Your problem seems to be not correctly using the '-patchme' when running eqgame.exe. That's the part that will prevent the game asking yo to patch first. Ie, as I said before, make the link / run command for 'eqgame.exe -patchme'.
