Ubuntu New User - Won't stay Full screen

After fighting with Windows Vista issues for months, I finally decided to switch to Ubuntu.
I installed Ubuntu 11.04 and wine 1.3.15. Yesterday.

Installed EQ Plat. and the SoD patcher no problem this morning.

Fought with horrible mouse lag issues all day," 8 Hours", but now it's working O.K., scroll wheel still doesn't work. Have to fight my way to the character selection screen too.

Now when I select full screen in options and or hit Alt-Enter the screen goes full for a second then back to small.

Any ideas?

As a person who barely gets time to play would like to have it working before next weekend.

FYI, the graphics look amazing in Ubuntu, at least ten times better than Vista.
 
this will sound odd, but go under accessories and select terminal and put it between the eq window and other graphical windows in your tab list, such your browser. then hit alt-enter. also make sure eqw isnt check in the initial start screen.
 
Thanks for the reply, will try it when my computer is working again.

Turns out Vista wasn't my only problem, Hard drive was slowly dieing. Gonna have to purchase a new one once I got some spare change in the bank.

Oh well, still have my laptop, which can't two box.
