Just out of curiosity: Why are no Exceptional Quality Type3 Augs in the game?


Edit: Filter ate the short form of Exceptional Quality...
 
I notice he said "Game Type 3", not simply "Type 3". I remember from Game that different augment types had different effects (one type added a proc, another added bane damage, etc.), so maybe he's asking why there are no augments doing whatever Type 3 augments do in Game.
 
Actually, what it seems he is referring to is that slot 2 and 5 have the ability to be higher in stats or AC or w/e you make them for.

The answer to that is that there used to be better ones but they were removed and the recipes changed as it was easy and cheap to make them iirc. It was ages ago though.
 
What are you blabbering about? JC augs have always been a max of "high" quality.

Yes, i noticed. And I still wonder if there is a special reason for that, and if so, what is the reason?

No, you're not thinking of that either I haven't the foggiest what you're thinking of
 
I remember stats were tweaked for all augments a while ago but don't recall anything about JC augments in particular.

Just hp/mana, resists and ac but that has nothing to do with JC augments in particular, no
 
From my point of view :
Maybe they're supposed to beef up items that usually don't have better stats than plate or silk/leather gear.
Type 3 gear are earring or ring (sometimes as well a mask and some other minor pieces), they rarely get the stats of leggings, chests, sleeves, cloaks... that's probably why the augment power stays on par with the gear it's supposed to go in.
Their trivial is also much lower than 2/5 , but that's not really an explanation :p
 
I'd guess because jewelcrafted augs need much less material/farming than type 2 and 5 and and don't invole brewed components?

If there was a higher level, I would definitely do it. Brewing and all.
