Tutorial To Use Raid Interface Available?

Hi!

I sort of puzzled my way through setting up a raid (multi-group gathering of people) with the interface, but I still don't really get it. I was used to using those /grouplink commands, but those have gone away I guess and I honestly don't even remember all that well either. Is there a tutorial somewhere on how to use the raid window interface?

I've also heard there are bugs with it, and some of the buttons do nothing. In the raids I got working right, I never even used the Primary Tank or Target buttons, although those sounded like they were useful. Do any of those buttons do anything... or not really?

Thanks!

Forming:
everyone makes sure they arent in a raid by typing /raiddis about 10 times
form group1
form group2
form group3
Raidinvite the leaders

if anyone leaves:
leave group
leave raid
type /raiddis like 10 times

Adding a new person after raid is formed:
have them type /raiddis about 10 times
have group leader invite them
they will join the group and the raid

In the event that the raid does bug or someone forgets to leave the raid and logs out(arg):
have everyone leave the raid and /raiddis 10 times
have new group leaders invite their groups and then raid invite them

keep changes to a bare minimum to reduce the chances of the raid bugging out

best piece of advice there

Something I've found to be pretty important:

Do not invite the second group (that's group 3) until the first group (that'd be group 2...) has accepted the raidinvite.

ya, you're raid is toast if you do that.

Also, for further clarification, none of the buttons do anything except the Raid Invite and Raid Disband buttons in the raid UI.

Oh, also, if someone needs to leave the raid, make sure they do so in the same zone that the raid was formed in. It's usually best to form the raid once in the zone you're going to raid in, also. That means, if someone has to leave after a wipe (that's when they always need to leave, right?), make sure they're rez'd and in the raid zone before they raiddisband.

The info in this thread may be worth adding to the ToK?

Wow - thats great help, thanks so much!

I guess it's simpler than I thought... it's just there are so many buttons and stuff you actually don't need I was getting confused = ) Still sounds a little tricky, but definately do-able!

Quick question: people keep mentioning the raid "bugging out" - what does that mean? What actually happens?

Thanks again!

The raid will bug out and groups will show that aren't there and other things that generally cause a headache. If people don't /raiddisband at the end of the night they will be raid bugged and every time they zone they will re-be in the raid and have to unbug themselves in order to join a group.
