OK.
For somereason, I cannot use EQW, but am managing to get the game client running just fine running it normally. I have changed my eqhost.txt file to what is recommended on the forums here
[Registration Servers]
{
"209.172.32.20:5999"
}
[Login Servers]
{
"209.172.32.20:5997"
}
and it is set to being "read only"
However, when I go into the game and try to login, I ony get a timeout. (It works when I try to connect to "real" eq's server, although I don't have an account)
[insert, friend just asked for more info] I never se a server select screen. I see the login screen. When I hit "enter" it sits for several seconds and then a bubble pops up and says "a time out has occured"
I have ensured that the proper ports are open in winders, and my DSL modem and I have bypassed my router, just in case. I can ping the server itself from the command line and get a good ping, so I'm thinking it's the ports or something else.
Anybody got any ideas how I can get past this and into the game?
