Trivial levels and skill increases

Hello,

I know that if you attempt to craft something way out of your skill, you will not only fail but also get a message stating that the item is too difficult for you to increase your skill on it. I was just wondering if the minimum difference between your skill and the trivial level of an item increases as you skill up, or if it is a fixed number.

In other words... If with 20 skill, I cannot succeed nor skill up on an item with a trivial level of 40, does it mean that I cannot succeed nor skill up on an item with a trivial level of 140 if my skill is at 120?

Thanks!

I believe the range goes up as your skill goes up. At least, that seems to be my experience.

When I was brewing at skill of 20, I don't believe I was able to skill up on items with trivials of 50. Now, in my brewing for example, I can skill up on items with 185 trivial while my skill was 150. I just had really few successes.

My guess is that it's a percent of your current skill. Of course, I could be completely mistaken.
