Transons elemental renewal

So I just hit 60 and got this spell, but it didn't seem to be heling for as much as I thought it would. I then realized it was because it was healing for the same amount as the previous healing spell Transon's elemental infusion. Is this supposed to happen? If so, what's the point of a new tier? Is there some sort of healing cap? Right now I'm healing for 750 with both of them, and they're on the same timer so it's not the case that I can have them both up. Thanks in advance for any help.
 
According to the spell parser, there should be a considerable difference. At 60, Infusion should be doing 580 and renewal 900 (not including any HI bonus). In your testing, your pet is not being completely healed by either, correct?
 
Well, I guess this answered itself, as now its healing for 1000. I don't understand why it wasn't before though, as the pet wasn't being healed to max, rather from around 70 to 90 or 85% so that wouldn't be the reason. I guess there's not a problem now, its been reduced to a random weird occurance.
