Translocating to Odus

I applaud the spirit of the Translocator Association for noticing the demand for fast travel in Dalaya and making a business out of it. Currently most destinations are reachable by paying the 2pp fee and doing some legwork, except Erudin's continent (Odus). I wonder why the Association is not yet addressing this business opportunity.
I'm sure there are a lot of people tired of sitting on their butts, waiting for the boat and depending on sailors who, we all know, drink too much rum and occasionally stop doing their shuttle duty. These travellers would rather be paying a fee and jog the rest of their way to First Ruins, Warrens or other destinations on Odus.

Because the boat ride from Newport to Erudin is five minutes long.

and besides...sailors don't drink too much rum...usually...well, sometimes...and anyways, its only when in port, never underway (...at least where you can get caught ;) - keelhauling is fairly painful after all ;( )

...and that old saying that a sailor has a girl in every port...its a lie...its not a girl, its a bar or 3...maybe...that serves fairly good food in comparision to ship's food (ship's food is VERY bad) and has at least one good looking waitress (before the first 5 drinks or so :p ) and isn't too far from the ship...

How about a TL to Halas? Halas is always empty because although it doesn't seem like a LONG run from Newport, it's tedious.

I mean Athica has a TL now and really, it's not that far from Underhill anyway...

I think Halas would make more sense than Frosthorn at least. :-/

If you take away the TL to frosthorn then it would take away access to frost horn,EW, etc. to people who are KoS to giants and have to run through Kael errr....well, not maybe take it away if they can invis but would be a bigger pain.

Actually, I would love a TL to Thurgadin. I had never been there until a couple of days ago, and its really a cool city. I don't think many people go there, so it would be nice to increase traffic there some. Also, it would be a great place to implement quests for the recently changed North zones.

This is rapidly transforming into a request for PoK books :)
My point is that (from a certain RP perspective with an active personality) legwork is fun, sitting & waiting adds to fatty tissues. Thurgadin is reasonably close to Frosthorn, in my perspective.

To best get to the Erudian Isle, first get a newport port neck, then bind in Erudin. You can now gate to Erudin and still have super easy access to everywhere else through NP and the NP Translocator. Easy, huh!

I actualy wish the translocators would be removed all together. My wizard ports are nigh useless now, considering the only place he can port to now that translocators cant, is mistwoods.

Level up. Wizard ports are awesome.

Reading topics like these make me realise how great it is to be a druid :)

Anyway, as for Odus not having a TL. There has been a MASSIVE wall of storms in that ocean next to it for decades, i am sure the boatline has trouble enough getting through that part of the world and maybe translocators just couldnt get it done yet :)

And halas... ow well. Those pesky barbarians have been living in isolation for ever anyway :) let em

i have no issue with either a druid or Wizard porting me, certain ports are better from a wizard, like OSM and Everforst.

The odus translocator is deffintly not needed. The boat ride, like wiz said takes 5 min.

If there was one to be added, maybe freeport or around there. The freeport boat ride is very long, and because
of that the boats come alot less frequently.

I like travel the way it is. I like the fact it is just inconvenient enough that it keeps me in a zone longer, this way I'm not hopping from zone to zone to zone to zone like I was on Live. I've gained a lot greater love for this game by using my last 2pp to go somewhere and than be there for a while because I'm broke and have nothing to do but explore and look for new mobs that aren't too high or too low to fight.

And also, I've been wondering this for a while, what's the deal with Mitch Lawrence? What's his story?

I looked it up, because I had no clue who that guys is.

Mitch Lawrence has been the NBA Columnist for the Daily News since 1995. Previously, he covered the Nets for a season for the News, and the Dallas Mavericks for seven seasons for the Dallas Morning News. After graduating from Temple University, he worked for newspapers in Syracuse and Rochester, N.Y. He is a native of Montclair, N.J.

I guess Rab likes Basketball, so we're condemned to see that ugly mug in his sig.
