Since there is a significant failure rate not only with main tailoring combines, but also the ointments used for each combine; I was wondering if it were possible to make the tradeskill messages either public like /say or viewable to those in a group.
(eg you have combined these items to create something new! and You lacked the skills...)

I think SoD really needs a tradeskill message, immagine the situation:

Person gives tradeskiller ingredients for a 250+ combine, they say it failed and keep the parts...

...or even if they didnt accusations of that could fly just because the person is upset at losing their components which is unfair on the tradeskiller.


I'd like to see messages added to group chat for combines and failiures complete with what the person was trying to make, eg.

Maimai has failed in creating a Platinum Diamondine Pearl Earring.
Maimai has succeeded in creating a Platinum Diamondine Pearl Ring.
etc.

this would be a good change. i was a GM tailor in live and there was a message that went to grouped characters which stated what you were combining and if it failed or not, was useful to be able to invite people in group and do combines for them so they know you're not screwing them over if something fails. probably best to just keep it to group chat or make it easily filterable as the spam would be kind of ridiculous if someone's tradeskilling lower levels with vendor junk and it appears in say.

I know all of us were sitting around wondering if this was implanted (implemented?) on EQ Live, because that is a very valid and useful tool in determining what goes on with SoD.

Next time try to contribute something to the thread or don't click the submit button.

Maybe a good way to avoid spam is to only make these kind of messages appear when the combiner and the purchaser are in the same group!

This actually is a good idea.
 
That is how used to work in that other game, but I remember being annoyed when the druid decided to work on his tradeskills between pulls spamming 20 lines of red text every minute...

I think it would be super nice for it to be a group message, but even better to also make a filter for those in your group that don't care to see that you are making leather padding between pulls.
